The 2026 Mitsubishi Outlander Plug-in Hybrid starts at $43,245 MSRP in the U.S. Mitsubishi describes it as a mid-cycle refresh, with a 22.7-kWh battery, up to 45 miles of electric range, and revised cabin, exterior, steering, and suspension details. The price excludes destination and other charges, and the available information does not establish how much more it costs than the 2025 model.
How much does the 2026 Outlander PHEV cost?
Mitsubishi Motors North America announced a U.S. starting MSRP of $43,245 on March 16, 2026. That is the vehicle’s base suggested retail price, not an out-the-door quote. Mitsubishi lists a destination fee of $1,745, or $1,870 in Hawaii and Alaska; taxes, title, license, dealer charges, and options may also affect the final price. Dealers set their own selling prices. The announcement does not provide a directly comparable 2025 starting MSRP, so it is not enough to verify the size of a year-over-year price increase. Nor does the $43,245 figure tell you what a dealer will charge locally.
What is new for 2026?
Mitsubishi calls the 2026 model a mid-cycle refresh. The changes span the plug-in hybrid system, ride and handling, cabin, and exterior. Equipment varies by trim, so features listed for the range should not be assumed to come on every version.

Battery, range, efficiency, and power
Mitsubishi specifies a new 22.7-kWh battery and up to 45 miles of all-electric range. The company also quotes 73 MPGe and 297 horsepower of total system output. It attributes the improvements to a new battery cooling system and improved thermal management, and says electric operation is available in more driving scenarios. These are manufacturer-stated figures, not independent test results; Mitsubishi cautions that actual range and mileage vary with driving conditions.
Steering and suspension
Mitsubishi says it revised the steering and suspension tuning. The announcement does not provide quantified handling or ride comparisons, so the change is best understood as a manufacturer-described tuning update rather than a measured performance claim.

Cabin and audio
Interior updates include revised seating surfaces, redesigned cupholders and phone-charging pad, larger armrest storage, and added sound deadening. Cooled front seats are available on select trims. Mitsubishi lists either an eight-speaker or 12-speaker Dynamic Sound Yamaha audio system, depending on equipment.
Exterior
The refresh brings a revised hood and front grille area, new front and rear bumper designs, smoke-finish rear taillights, and LED lighting. Wheel size is 18 or 20 inches depending on trim.

Which trims are available?
Mitsubishi names four main U.S. trims for 2026: ES, SE, SEL, and the new Black Edition. Select packages and accessories are also available. The announcement does not provide a complete trim-by-trim feature breakdown or a full price ladder, so confirm the equipment and price of a specific configuration with Mitsubishi’s current listing or a dealer before comparing offers.
