Which is bigger, the Lexus NX or RX?
The RX is the larger-positioned SUV in Lexus’s lineup. Lexus specifies the 2026 RX at 192.5 inches long with a 112.2-inch wheelbase. The cited official material does not provide an equivalent NX dimension or a directly comparable cargo-volume table, so there is no reliable numeric size or cargo-capacity difference to quote here.
Both models seat five, but the seating count does not tell you whether a particular vehicle will fit your passengers or belongings comfortably. The NX and RX starting figures should not be assumed to have identical delivery-fee treatment: the cited NX model page lists a starting price, while the opened NX price details did not establish how that figure handles destination charges. Compare current dealer or Lexus build-and-price totals for the exact trims and drivetrains rather than treating the base-price gap as the final difference in what you will pay.

Which Lexus SUV gets better gas mileage?
For the conventional-hybrid examples Lexus lists, the NX 350h is rated at up to 40 combined MPG, compared with 36 combined MPG for the RX 350h. Lexus lists net combined output at 240 horsepower for the cited NX configuration and 246 horsepower for the RX 350h. These are manufacturer figures for specified configurations, not results from a direct road test; check the drivetrain and grade because estimates vary.
The RX also comes with a gas-only option. Lexus lists the RX 350 at 275 horsepower and gives page-level combined estimates of 25 MPG with front-wheel drive and 24 MPG with all-wheel drive. Should you choose a plug-in hybrid?
Both nameplates offer plug-in hybrids: the NX 450h+ and RX 450h+. The cited 2026 RX material gives the RX 450h+ an EPA-estimated 38 miles of electric-only range. Lexus says it can fully charge in approximately two-and-a-half hours using a 240-volt supply and its standard 6.6-kW onboard charger; the included dual-voltage cable supports 120- and 240-volt outlets. The 2026 NX plug-in hybrid is available, and Lexus says each 2026 NX PHEV includes a dual-voltage cable for Level 1 and Level 2 charging. A plug-in hybrid makes most sense to evaluate against your charging routine: can you plug in at home or work, and does your ordinary daily distance make electric driving useful? MPGe is not the same measure as MPG, and a plug-in’s estimated combined efficiency should not be treated as what it will achieve when it is rarely or never charged.

How do equipment and safety features compare?
Lexus says its Lexus Safety System+ 3.0 is standard on every 2026 RX. The RX also lists wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility and Lexus Interface. Which one should you shortlist?
- Start with the NX if the lower published entry price is important and its size and trim choices meet your needs.
- Look closely at the RX if you want the larger-positioned Lexus SUV or need an RX-specific grade or powertrain. Confirm the configuration’s price and equipment rather than assuming every RX includes the same features.
