The 2026 Lexus LC 500 and 2025 Lexus RC F Final Edition are not a same-model-year matchup: Lexus’s published material identifies the LC as a 2026 model and the RC F Final Edition as a 2025 model. Their V8 output and manufacturer-quoted acceleration are close, but Lexus positions them differently: the LC as a flagship coupe balancing design, comfort and performance, and the RC F as a rear-wheel-drive performance coupe with a direct link to Lexus’s GT3 program.
Model years and versions: what is actually being compared?
Lexus announced the LC 500 as a 2026 model. The RC F documented in the available Lexus material is the 2025 Final Edition, a mono-spec version marking the RC F’s final model year in that announcement. The evidence here does not establish a 2026 RC F, so this comparison uses the 2025 RC F Final Edition—not an RC 350 or another RC grade.
That distinction matters when comparing prices and shopping listings: the LC figure below is an announced 2026 starting MSRP, while the RC F figure is a third-party displayed starting MSRP for a 2025 Final Edition RWD.
How the LC 500 and RC F Final Edition compare
| Specification or positioning | 2026 Lexus LC 500 | 2025 Lexus RC F Final Edition |
|---|---|---|
| Lexus positioning | Flagship sports coupe emphasizing design, comfort and performance | Rear-wheel-drive performance coupe tied to the RC F performance lineage |
| Engine | 5.0-liter naturally aspirated V8 | 5.0-liter V8 |
| Power | 471 hp | 472 hp |
| Torque | 398 lb-ft | 395 lb-ft (Cars.com listing) |
| Transmission | 10-speed automatic | 8-speed automatic (Cars.com listing) |
| 0–60 mph | 4.4 seconds, Lexus estimate | 4.2 seconds, Lexus estimate |
| Starting price found | $101,800 including Delivery, Processing and Handling (Lexus announcement) | $92,825 starting MSRP displayed by Cars.com for Final Edition RWD; third-party listing |
The output and acceleration figures come from manufacturer material, not a controlled, side-by-side test. The 0–60 estimates suggest a small nominal advantage for the RC F, but they do not establish how the cars compare in real-world conditions. Transmission and RC F torque figures above are listed by Cars.com.

Two different priorities, rather than a simple performance ranking
LC 500: flagship coupe priorities
Lexus describes the LC 500 as its flagship sports coupe, with design, comfort and performance all part of its brief. That positioning makes it the more natural fit for a buyer drawn to the LC as a luxury-oriented grand-touring coupe. It does not, by itself, prove a particular ride quality or comfort advantage over the RC F.
RC F Final Edition: a more overt performance identity
Lexus presents the RC F as a rear-wheel-drive sports coupe rooted in its GT3 program and describes the Final Edition as the closing expression of that performance lineage. Lexus says it includes drivetrain optimizations. The brand called the Final Edition “a sonorous swan song”; that is Lexus’s own characterization, not an independent assessment of its sound or driving behavior.

The practical decision is therefore about which car’s stated mission better matches your priorities, not which one wins every category. The specification gap is narrow: the RC F is listed at one more horsepower and carries a slightly quicker manufacturer 0–60 estimate, while the LC’s identity emphasizes flagship design, comfort and performance together. The supplied figures do not establish comparative handling, comfort, practicality or ownership costs.

Which one should you consider?
- Start with the LC 500 if Lexus’s flagship-coupe emphasis on design, comfort and performance is the combination you want.
- Start with the RC F Final Edition if its rear-wheel-drive performance-coupe identity and connection to the RC F lineage matter more to you.
- Compare the exact cars for sale if price is decisive: one is a 2026 LC and the other a 2025 Final Edition, and the available starting-price figures have different sources and bases.
- Do not decide from the acceleration estimates alone. Lexus’s 4.4- and 4.2-second figures are estimates, not results from a controlled comparison.
