Those are manufacturer figures, not independent test results; buyers should check local equipment, charging access and dealer pricing before ordering.
What kind of vehicle is the 2026 Jeep Recon?
The Recon is a battery-electric SUV, not a hybrid or plug-in hybrid. Jeep says it has standard electric 4×4, using two 250-kW electric drive modules and a 100-kWh, 400-volt battery pack. Its launch release listed 650 horsepower and 620 lb-ft (840 Nm) of torque; Jeep’s current U.S. and Canadian product pages list 670 horsepower. The difference reflects distinct published claims: do not assume the launch-era output is the current figure for every market or configuration.
Jeep launched the Recon as a vehicle intended to combine electric propulsion with its off-road and open-air design cues. The launch release quoted Jeep brand CEO Bob Broderdorf calling it “a bold step forward for the brand” that would take Jeep enthusiasts into an electric future. That is the brand’s positioning; the figures and trail capability below are Jeep’s claims, not independent measurements.

These values should not be treated as interchangeable ratings or as a promise of real-world distance. The Canadian page identifies several variables that can affect range; the launch release’s estimate is a separate, earlier claim. Check the current page for the market where you will register the vehicle and consider your typical highway speed, climate, terrain and charging stops.
How long does the Recon take to charge, and what charging access does it use?
Jeep Canada estimates 28 minutes for a 5–80% charge using a Level 3 DC fast charger. That is a manufacturer estimate for that charge window, not a guaranteed everyday session time. Jeep says charging times vary, and the result depends on charger and vehicle conditions.

Charging at home
Jeep says a portable dual-level combination cord is available. For Level 2 home charging, Jeep describes either installing a NEMA 14-50 outlet or upgrading to a 48-amp residential charger; it says charging speeds can reach 11.5 kW. Jeep names Qmerit for installation services. Confirm the vehicle’s included equipment, the required electrical work and charger compatibility for your home before budgeting.
Public charging and the NACS transition
Jeep’s charging page says Stellantis is adopting the North American Charging System (NACS) and references adding 27,500 Tesla Superchargers to the network. It also promotes an integrated charging adapter. Network access and adapter arrangements can vary, so verify the exact Recon-compatible adapter, charger eligibility and local availability rather than assuming any generic adapter will work. What off-road capability and equipment does Jeep claim?
Jeep describes the Recon as Trail Rated and lists underbody protection, terrain modes and Moab-specific hardware. These are manufacturer capability claims; Trail Rated status does not guarantee that every trail or crossing is suitable for every driver, vehicle setup or condition.
Moab figures and drivetrain hardware
For the Moab configuration, Jeep’s launch release gives 9.4 inches of ground clearance with standard 33-inch tires, a 34-degree approach angle, a 34.5-degree departure angle and a 23.5-degree breakover angle. Jeep says Moab’s rear drive module has a 15:1 final drive and an electronic locking differential; the front drive uses an open differential with automatic disconnects. Terrain modes and water crossings
The launch release lists Auto, Sport, Snow and Sand for Selec-Terrain, with Rock mode added on Moab. Jeep Canada’s capability page currently displays five modes—Sport, Sand, Rock, Snow and Auto. The difference in presentation may reflect market or configuration details; check the local build sheet for the trim you are considering.
Jeep Canada says the Recon can ford up to 24 inches (61 cm) of water. Jeep also warns drivers not to ford unless the depth is known and within the Owner’s Manual rating, and says water damage might not be covered by warranty. Treat the published maximum as a limit under specified conditions, not a recommendation to enter water. The Jeep Canada capability page carries the claim and warning.

Does the Jeep Recon have removable doors?
Yes. Jeep says the doors, rear-quarter glass and swing-gate glass can be removed without tools. An available Sky One-Touch Power Top adds another open-air option. The rear swing gate carries a full-size spare. Confirm which removable components and top are included or available on the trim and vehicle in your market; feature availability can differ by build.
What are the Recon’s cabin, cargo and towing details?
Jeep lists a modular dash accessory rail, Alpine audio and more than 26 inches of combined screen space. With the second row folded, Jeep claims 65.9 cubic feet of rear cargo space; the front trunk is listed at 3.0 cubic feet. Jeep also claims more than 170 standard safety and security features. These are manufacturer descriptions and figures; review the specific vehicle’s equipment list for included features.
Jeep Canada lists towing of up to 3,298 lb (1,496 kg) when properly equipped. That is a maximum, not a rating for every Recon setup. Check the vehicle’s specific towing equipment and the Owner’s Manual before choosing a trailer.
How much does the 2026 Jeep Recon cost?
Jeep’s current U.S. product page shows an example MSRP of $69,585. Jeep cautions that prices and offers can change and that displayed preproduction vehicles or features may differ. Treat that figure as an example shown on the U.S. page, not a quote or a price for other markets. Dealer inventory, installed equipment, options, taxes and fees affect the final amount; confirm the current build and out-the-door price with a local dealer.
