What is the 125th Anniversary Chief Vintage?
It is a limited-edition 2026 version of the Indian Chief Vintage, released as part of Indian Motorcycle’s 125th-anniversary collection. The company describes the bike as carrying forward Chief design cues established in the 1940s. This is the 2026 anniversary edition, not the older 2016 Chief Vintage.
Indian says 250 examples are available worldwide. That is the company’s stated availability; it does not specify whether the figure is a production cap, dealer allocation or remaining inventory. What makes the anniversary edition distinctive?
The Chief Vintage’s silhouette is shaped by valanced fenders, a floating solo seat, wire wheels and vintage-style handlebars. The anniversary treatment adds 125th Anniversary Red and Black Crystal paint, hand-applied pinstriping and badging, a stitched seat and polished rider floorboards. These are design details, not evidence of a performance change over another Chief model.

Indian Motorcycle Design Director Ola Stenegärd said the collection’s motorcycles were “painstakingly designed and refined, not just to perform, but to tell a story.” That is the company’s design perspective; it is not an independent assessment.
Engine and key specifications
The U.S. manufacturer specification lists an air-cooled Thunderstroke 116 producing a claimed peak torque of 120 ft-lb at 2,900 rpm. Indian’s EMEA release gives the torque figure as 156 Nm. These are manufacturer-published figures, not independent measurements.

Technology and standard equipment
The U.S. feature list includes ABS, selectable ride modes, keyless ignition, USB and 12V charging ports, and rear-cylinder deactivation. A factory-installed 4-inch Ride Command display provides GPS navigation, Bluetooth connectivity and ride information.

Indian’s model release describes an optional wireless helmet communicator use case: after pairing a phone with Ride Command by Bluetooth or USB, a rider can control music through the system. A communicator is not stated to be included, and the available information does not identify a specific compatible model. Navigation and connected features can vary by country.
Price and availability
Indian Motorcycle lists a U.S. starting MSRP of $24,999 for the 2026 edition. The manufacturer says the price excludes destination and handling fees, tax, title, license and registration, and that dealer prices may vary. It is therefore a starting price, not an out-the-door quote. The company’s stated worldwide availability is 250 motorcycles; actual dealer inventory is not established by that figure. Indian also announced limited-edition anniversary apparel, including jackets, a sweatshirt, T-shirts and a hat, available through select dealerships in very limited quantities. It is separate from the motorcycle’s listed equipment.

The published figures describe the motorcycle’s equipment and dimensions, but they do not establish real-world fuel economy, road-test performance, long-term reliability or owner satisfaction. A meaningful comparison with another Chief requires current, same-model-year information on price, availability, engine and torque, weight, seat height, standard safety and technology features, styling and included accessories. The anniversary trim description alone does not show a performance advantage.
