The 2026 Honda SUV lineup runs from the 179.8-inch HR-V to the 200.1-inch Pilot, while prices run from $26,500 to $50,000. The HR-V is the smallest and cheapest, the CR-V is the compact middle ground, the Passport and Prologue are near-equal in length, and the Pilot is the only three-row model. The CR-V e:FCEV is the most expensive but has limited California availability.

Below, the models are ranked by exterior length and then by Honda’s starting U.S. MSRP. The CR-V Hybrid is included as a CR-V variant rather than counted as a separate SUV body.

Honda’s 2026 SUV lineup ranges from the 179.8-inch HR-V to the 200.1-inch Pilot. The HR-V is the smallest and least expensive at $26,500, while the Pilot is the longest mainstream Honda SUV, starting at $42,395. The CR-V is the compact middle ground at $30,920, the Prologue is the unusual value play because it is slightly longer than the Passport but starts $5,050 lower, and the CR-V e:FCEV is the most expensive at $50,000 but is available only through select California dealerships.

This comparison covers Honda’s U.S. 2026 SUV and crossover models, ranked first by exterior length and then separately by starting MSRP. The CR-V Hybrid is treated as a powertrain variant of the CR-V rather than a separate body model. Destination charges, taxes, registration, dealer fees, accessories, and other charges are not included in the MSRPs below.

2026 Honda SUVs ranked by exterior size

Length is the primary size measure because it provides the clearest apples-to-apples comparison of the vehicles’ exterior footprints. Width and height are included where Honda’s available specifications provide them. Exterior dimensions do not, by themselves, determine passenger room, cargo capacity, turning ease, or third-row usefulness.

Size rank Honda model Type and powertrain Length Width Height Starting MSRP
1 2026 Honda HR-V Subcompact crossover, gasoline 179.8 in 72.4 in 63.4–63.8 in $26,500
2 2026 Honda CR-V Compact SUV, gasoline or hybrid 184.8 in See trim specifications Not listed here $30,920 gasoline
$35,630 hybrid
3 2026 Honda CR-V e:FCEV Compact SUV, hydrogen fuel cell with plug-in charging 187.6 in 73.5 in 66.6 in $50,000
4 2026 Honda Passport Midsize, two-row SUV 191.5 in 79.4 in 73.1 in $44,950
5 2026 Honda Prologue Midsize battery-electric SUV 192.0 in 78.3 in 64.7–65.2 in $39,900
6 2026 Honda Pilot Three-row family SUV 200.1 in
200.4 in TrailSport
78.5 in 70.9–72.0 in $42,395

The HR-V is 20.3 inches shorter than the standard Pilot. At the other end of the midsize range, the Prologue and Passport are effectively near-peers in footprint: the Prologue is only 0.5 inch longer, although the Passport is wider and taller.

2026 Honda SUVs ranked by starting price

  1. Honda HR-V — $26,500. The entry LX is the least expensive Honda SUV. Sport starts at $28,300 and EX-L at $30,350.
  2. Honda CR-V — $30,920. This is the gasoline LX starting price. The CR-V Sport Hybrid starts at $35,630.
  3. Honda Prologue — $39,900. The all-electric EX undercuts every midsize gasoline Honda SUV in this comparison.
  4. Honda Pilot — $42,395. The Sport is the entry trim for Honda’s three-row SUV.
  5. Honda Passport — $44,950. The RTL is the base trim; the RTL Towing version starts at $45,650.
  6. Honda CR-V e:FCEV — $50,000. It is the highest-priced model in the comparison, but it is not a normal nationwide purchase option.

The price order differs from the size order in important ways. The Prologue is longer than the Passport but starts $5,050 lower. The Pilot is longer than both and still starts less than the Passport, while the CR-V e:FCEV costs more than every model despite being shorter than the two midsize SUVs.

Model-by-model breakdown

1. 2026 Honda HR-V: smallest and least expensive

The 2026 HR-V is Honda’s smallest SUV or crossover in this comparison. At 179.8 inches long, it has the easiest exterior footprint for shoppers who regularly deal with tight city parking spaces or a smaller garage. Its 104.5-inch wheelbase also helps explain why it sits below the CR-V in overall cabin and cargo capacity.

Honda lists 24.4 cubic feet of cargo volume behind the rear seats and 55.1 cubic feet with the rear seats folded. That makes the HR-V useful for everyday errands and modest road trips, but it is the least spacious Honda SUV here for passengers and luggage. It uses a gasoline engine, with available Real Time AWD.

Best fit: Buyers who want the lowest entry price and smallest footprint, and who do not need the CR-V’s additional space or hybrid option.

2. 2026 Honda CR-V: the compact middle ground

The standard 2026 CR-V is 184.8 inches long, placing it 5.0 inches above the HR-V and well below the three-row Pilot. It is the conventional all-rounder in Honda’s range: larger and more useful than the HR-V without moving into the substantially wider and more expensive midsize category.

Honda offers a 190-horsepower turbocharged gasoline powertrain and a 204-horsepower two-motor hybrid system. The gasoline LX starts at $30,920, while the CR-V Sport Hybrid starts at $35,630. The higher hybrid prices listed by Honda include the $38,800 TrailSport Hybrid and $42,550 Sport Touring Hybrid.

The CR-V is also the Honda SUV with the clearest accessory-based expansion path for buyers who need more carrying flexibility. Honda’s materials identify Honda CR-V roof rack cross bars as part of the Utility Package and show them supporting rooftop cargo accessories. Confirm the model year, trim, roof-rail configuration, permitted load, and the specific accessory’s fit before buying; a crossbar system for one CR-V configuration should not be assumed to fit another.

  • Openable Doors And Pull Back Action
  • 1 car, no box

Best fit: Shoppers who want a practical compact SUV, a choice between gasoline and hybrid power, and more cargo and passenger flexibility than the HR-V provides.

3. 2026 Honda CR-V e:FCEV: longer than the CR-V, but a limited-market alternative

The CR-V e:FCEV measures 187.6 inches long, making it 2.8 inches longer than the standard CR-V, but still shorter than the Passport and Prologue. It combines a hydrogen fuel-cell system with plug-in charging capability, and Honda reports a 270-mile driving-range rating.

Its $50,000 starting MSRP makes it the most expensive vehicle in this ranking. More importantly, the price does not tell the whole ownership story: Honda says the model is currently available only at select dealerships in California, and eligibility depends in part on proximity to approved hydrogen stations. It should therefore be treated as a limited-availability technology model, not as a nationally available CR-V trim that most buyers can simply order.

Best fit: A California shopper who lives near the required hydrogen infrastructure and specifically wants fuel-cell technology. For most other buyers, the gasoline CR-V, CR-V Hybrid, or Prologue is more relevant.

4. 2026 Honda Passport: widest two-row SUV

The Passport is 191.5 inches long, 79.4 inches wide, and 73.1 inches tall. It is only 0.5 inch shorter than the Prologue, but its greater width and taller SUV profile give it a different physical character. Unlike the Pilot, it has two rows rather than three.

The entry RTL starts at $44,950, or $45,650 for the RTL Towing version. Every Passport uses a 285-horsepower 3.5-liter V6 with standard i-VTM4 all-wheel drive. The Passport is the more natural choice than the CR-V for buyers prioritizing a wider cabin, a higher-riding midsize SUV format, off-road equipment, and towing capability.

Its trade-offs are equally clear: it costs $14,030 more than the gasoline CR-V LX and offers no third row. A buyer who needs maximum seating should look at the Pilot; a buyer who wants electric driving should compare the Passport with the Prologue instead.

Best fit: Buyers who want a substantial two-row SUV with standard all-wheel drive, V6 power, off-road capability, and towing-oriented equipment.

5. 2026 Honda Prologue: nearly Passport-sized, but electric and cheaper

The battery-electric Prologue is 192.0 inches long, making it the second-longest model in the comparison and just 0.5 inch longer than the Passport. It is lower than the Passport at 64.7–65.2 inches, and its 78.3-inch width is slightly narrower.

Honda lists the Prologue EX at $39,900 and gives it a 308-mile city/highway range rating on its U.S. vehicle index. That starting price is $5,050 below the Passport despite the Prologue’s slightly longer exterior. This makes it the lineup’s main size-versus-price outlier, but the comparison is not simply about dimensions: the Prologue is battery-electric, while the Passport is a gasoline-powered, all-wheel-drive V6 SUV.

Road-trip buyers who need more cargo room can investigate a Honda Prologue roof box or compatible Prologue crossbars. Honda’s accessory materials indicate that the roof box requires crossbars. Verify the exact vehicle configuration, roof-system compatibility, and roof-load limits before purchasing, particularly because rooftop weight and cargo can affect an EV’s efficiency and range.

Best fit: Buyers who want a midsize electric SUV and have dependable access to charging, especially those who value the Prologue’s lower starting MSRP relative to the Passport.

6. 2026 Honda Pilot: longest and the only three-row model

The Pilot is Honda’s largest mainstream SUV and the only model here with a third row. It measures 200.1 inches long in most configurations, or 200.4 inches in TrailSport form. Width is 78.5 inches, and listed height ranges from 70.9 to 72.0 inches depending on configuration.

Honda lists seating for up to eight and up to 158.4 cubic feet of EPA passenger volume in applicable configurations. Those seating and passenger-volume figures matter more to family shoppers than the Pilot’s length alone: the Pilot is the model to choose when the requirement is three-row capacity rather than merely a larger two-row cabin.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

The Pilot Sport starts at $42,395. That makes it less expensive at the entry point than the two-row Passport and far less expensive than the CR-V e:FCEV, although trim, drivetrain, equipment, and final transaction costs can change the comparison.

Best fit: Families who need a third row, seating for as many as eight, and the largest mainstream Honda SUV footprint.

What the rankings do—and do not—tell you

Exterior length is not the same as interior room

The Pilot is longest and offers three rows, but passenger and cargo space vary by seating configuration and trim. The Prologue’s 192.0-inch length does not automatically make it roomier than the Passport in every seating or cargo-use scenario. Width, wheelbase, seat design, cargo-floor height, and third-row packaging all affect how a vehicle works inside.

The Prologue and Passport are close in footprint, not in mission

These two SUVs are almost identical in length, but they serve different buyers. The Prologue is a battery-electric SUV with a 308-mile city/highway range rating and a $39,900 starting MSRP. The Passport is a gasoline V6 SUV with standard all-wheel drive and a stronger emphasis on off-road and towing use. Choose between them by powertrain access and intended use, not by the half-inch length difference.

The CR-V e:FCEV should not be treated as a normal trim

Although its name places it within the CR-V family, the e:FCEV has a distinct hydrogen-and-plug-in powertrain, a $50,000 starting price, and a restricted California sales footprint. Hydrogen-station access is a prerequisite, so its ranking is useful for completeness but not a realistic shopping comparison for most U.S. readers.

MSRP is only the starting point

Honda’s listed starting MSRP does not necessarily equal the amount a buyer pays. Destination charges, taxes, registration, dealer charges, accessories, premium paint, financing costs, and other applicable fees may be added. Compare actual configured pricing and local availability before treating the rankings as a purchase budget.

Which 2026 Honda SUV should you choose?

If your priority is… Start with… Why
Lowest price and smallest footprint HR-V It is the shortest and least expensive model.
Balanced compact-SUV utility CR-V It sits above the HR-V in size and offers gasoline or hybrid power.
Three-row seating Pilot It is the only model in this comparison with a third row and seats up to eight.
Two-row off-road and towing capability Passport It has a 285-hp V6, standard all-wheel drive, and midsize-SUV proportions.
Battery-electric driving Prologue It offers a 308-mile city/highway range rating and a lower starting price than the Passport.
Hydrogen fuel-cell technology in California CR-V e:FCEV It combines fuel-cell and plug-in capability, but requires local access to approved hydrogen stations.

2026 Honda SUV accessory considerations

Size and price are only part of the decision. Buyers adding family, outdoor, or road-trip equipment should match accessories to the exact model year, trim, roof-rail design, hitch specification, and manufacturer load limit. Honda’s accessory materials document categories such as a Honda SUV cargo tray and 2026 Honda all-season floor mats, but a product listed for one Honda SUV should not be assumed to fit the HR-V, CR-V, Pilot, Passport, and Prologue interchangeably.

For roof-mounted equipment, check the complete system rather than only the box or basket: vehicle rails, crossbars, towers or mounting hardware, maximum roof load, and the accessory’s own limits all matter. This is particularly important for the Prologue, where added roof weight and aerodynamic drag can affect electric range.

Methodology and model-year note

Dimensions and starting prices in this article use Honda’s official U.S. model pages and specifications available on August 12, 2026. Size is ranked by exterior length, with width and height shown for context. Price means Honda’s listed starting MSRP for the base or entry trim. The 2026 HR-V remains included because it is the model year relevant to this comparison, even though Honda’s live vehicle index has begun showing the 2027 HR-V in its primary current-model section and the 2026 HR-V under previous-year models.

Is the Honda Prologue bigger than the Passport?

Is the Honda CR-V e:FCEV widely available?

The Bottom Line

Bottom line: Choose the HR-V for the lowest price and smallest footprint, the CR-V for the most versatile compact-SUV balance, the Pilot for three-row family duty, the Passport for a powerful two-row gasoline SUV, and the Prologue for electric driving at a lower starting price than the Passport. The CR-V e:FCEV is a technically interesting but California-limited option rather than a normal nationwide purchase.
