Honda rates its range at up to 308 miles for front-wheel-drive EX and Touring models; all-wheel-drive versions are rated up to 294 miles, and the AWD-only Elite is rated at 283 miles. Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, Google built-in and familiar SUV utility give it recognizable Honda touches, but available evidence does not establish long-term dependability. Here is what to know about its range, charging, trim differences, safety and recalls.
What is the 2026 Honda Prologue?
The Prologue is Honda’s fully electric midsize SUV. It has an 85-kWh battery and is available with front-wheel drive or all-wheel drive, depending on trim. Honda lists a maximum cargo volume of 57.7 cubic feet and a 60/40 split-folding rear seat.
Its familiar features are specific, observable ones: wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, Google built-in, an 11.3-inch center touchscreen, and HondaLink connected by OnStar. Some connected features require service activation, and availability can depend on the selected package.
How far can a Honda Prologue go on a charge?
Honda’s 2026 U.S. model page gives these EPA range ratings by configuration:

These are EPA ratings, not guaranteed trip distances. Speed, weather, terrain, cabin heating or cooling, cargo and driving style can affect actual range. The highest rating applies to 2WD EX and Touring, not every Prologue.
How long does it take to charge a Honda Prologue?
Charging time depends on the equipment and power available. Honda’s estimates below are not guarantees: battery state, temperature, charger output and other conditions affect results.

Honda says the 2026 Prologue comes with a portable charger and offers a choice of a Home Charging Station Package or a $500 sales-credit package in MSRP. Check the specific vehicle’s window sticker and confirm the offer for its purchase date; the included portable unit and a home-station package are not necessarily the same equipment. The brochure gives the Home Charging Station 48 a three-year limited product warranty.

Can the Honda Prologue use Tesla Superchargers?
Honda says the Prologue can access more than 23,500 Tesla Supercharger ports with purchase of Honda’s Prologue-specific NACS-CCS adapter. The network count can change, and it does not mean every site is available for every trip. Honda describes the adapter as approved for the Prologue, rated to support up to 500 amps and covered by a one-year limited warranty.

Honda says this adapter is for public DC fast charging only. Do not use it with Level 1 or Level 2 home chargers, and do not assume a generic adapter is equivalent to Honda’s approved accessory. For home charging, use compatible home equipment instead.
What is the difference between Prologue EX, Touring and Elite?
Honda’s published 2026 U.S. starting prices and headline equipment distinguish the trims. Prices are subject to change and dealer variation.

Is the Honda Prologue safe?
American Honda Motor Co. says the 2025 Honda Prologue earned a five-star Overall Vehicle Score from NHTSA; Honda Global lists five stars for the 2025 Prologue EV in both FWD and AWD. NHTSA’s five-star program evaluates crash-test performance and rollover resistance. The result is evidence about safety performance for the tested model year, not a 2026 rating, a reliability measure or a guarantee about every real-world crash.

Yes. Two cited recall actions concern different issues and vehicle populations. Aggregate recall counts cannot tell you whether a particular vehicle is affected, so check its VIN with Honda or NHTSA and verify that any applicable remedy is complete.

Rearview-camera recall: certain 2024–2025 vehicles
NHTSA Recall 26V306, submitted May 14, 2026, covers certain 2024–2025 Honda Prologues and Acura ZDX vehicles; 44,199 Prologues were potentially involved. A bond in the rearview-camera housing can separate, allowing moisture in and causing the image to blur, distort or go black. The remedy is replacement with an improved camera. The report says the condition was corrected in production on June 9, 2025.
In its submission, Honda reported 2,411 warranty claims and no related injuries or deaths through April 12, 2026. Those figures describe the reporting period and this recall issue; they are not a model-wide failure rate or evidence that a specific vehicle is defect-free.
Display software recall: certain 2024 vehicles
A separate Honda notice dated March 4, 2026, describes a software defect in certain 2024 Prologues and Acura ZDX vehicles that can blank the instrument cluster and center display. That may remove speed and warning information or the rearview-camera image. Honda’s stated remedy is an improved radio control module software update. The notice lists 45,562 Prologues as potentially involved in this recall population.

Check the VIN through NHTSA’s recall lookup or Honda’s recall service before buying or continuing to drive a vehicle with a possible open recall. A population total does not establish whether an individual VIN is affected.
Does “familiar and dependable” fit the evidence?
“Familiar” is supportable in the sense of recognizable controls, connectivity and SUV utility: the Prologue has common smartphone integrations, Google built-in, a conventional rear-seat and cargo layout, and Honda branding. Dependability is a different claim. The cited specifications, warranty coverage, 2025 safety score and recall records do not establish long-term reliability or broad owner satisfaction. A five-star crash rating measures safety performance, not how reliably a vehicle operates over years of ownership.
