Why does the title say $42,195?
Honda’s December 15, 2025 launch release listed the Sport 2WD at $42,195 MSRP and the Black Edition AWD at $54,995. In its May 1, 2026 price list, Honda raised both endpoints by $200, to $42,395 and $55,195. The releases establish the price change but do not explain its cause. The earlier figures are launch-era prices, not the later listed MSRP. Honda’s launch announcement gives the original figures.

What changes as you move up the Pilot lineup?
The six trims are Sport, EX-L, Touring, TrailSport, Elite, and Black Edition. The price steps reflect a mix of drivetrain and equipment priorities; higher price does not mean better value for every household.
- Sport and EX-L: Both are offered in 2WD and AWD. The 2WD versions have the lineup’s highest EPA estimates in Honda’s table.
- TrailSport: AWD only, with all-terrain tires, off-road-tuned suspension, and TrailWatch identified on Honda’s model page. Its EPA estimate is 18/23/20 mpg.
- Touring: AWD only; Honda lists features including a panoramic moonroof, Bose audio, and a multiview camera.
- Elite and Black Edition: AWD only, with a head-up display listed for both; the Black Edition adds distinctive black trim and wheels.
Equipment can vary by model year, trim, and specific vehicle. Check the equipment list for the Pilot you are pricing rather than assuming every feature on a general model page applies to every configuration.

What does every 2026 Honda Pilot have in common?
Honda’s specifications list a 3,471 cc V6 producing 285 horsepower and 262 lb-ft of torque across the trims. Honda describes the Pilot as towing up to 5,000 pounds and seating up to eight in most configurations; the TrailSport has seven seats. Seating and towing depend on configuration, so confirm the specific vehicle’s arrangement and towing equipment before using those figures for a purchase decision. See Honda’s 2026 Pilot specifications and features.
What to check before comparing dealer prices
- Compare the same trim and drivetrain, not just each vehicle’s advertised starting price.
- Check whether a quoted figure is MSRP, MSRP plus destination, or a dealer’s selling price.
- Add any options and local taxes or fees that apply; Honda’s destination-included total is not an out-the-door figure.
- Verify the equipment, seat layout, and towing configuration on the specific vehicle.
Honda’s 2026 Genuine Accessories brochure lists items such as all-season floor mats and a folding cargo tray. Confirm model year, seat layout, and fitment before buying an accessory.
