It adds upscale cabin and convenience features—including SofTex-trimmed seats, a power moonroof and a power liftgate—to the XLE equipment set.
What comes with the 2023 Toyota RAV4 XLE Premium?
Toyota’s 2023 U.S. brochure lists the XLE Premium as an upgrade over the XLE, combining comfort and exterior enhancements with the gas RAV4’s standard technology and safety equipment. The grade includes:
- SofTex-trimmed seats and an 8-way power-adjustable driver’s seat with lumbar support.
- A leather-trimmed steering wheel.
- 19-inch multi-spoke alloy wheels and integrated LED fog lights.
- A power tilt-and-slide moonroof and a power liftgate.
- Dual-zone automatic climate control, wireless Apple CarPlay and wireless Android Auto.
Equipment can vary with packages and the build of an individual vehicle. Toyota’s 2023 RAV4 brochure describes the model-year grade; check the vehicle’s VIN and original window sticker to confirm what a particular car has.
Is the 2023 RAV4 XLE Premium front-wheel drive?
Yes. This article covers the conventional gas XLE Premium with front-wheel drive (FWD). Toyota also offered the gas XLE Premium with available all-wheel drive, so used-car listings may show either drivetrain. The FWD model is not the RAV4 Hybrid or RAV4 Prime; those are separate powertrain versions.

Engine and transmission
The gas FWD grade uses a 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine rated at 203 hp and a Direct Shift 8-speed automatic transmission, according to Toyota’s 2023 brochure.
What is the gas mileage for a 2023 RAV4 XLE Premium?
Toyota reports an EPA-estimated 28 city/35 highway/30 combined mpg for the 2023 gas XLE Premium. This is the published estimate for the grade, not a guarantee of real-world fuel economy; actual mileage varies with driving conditions, use and vehicle condition. Do not apply this figure to an AWD, Hybrid or Prime model.

Does the XLE Premium have a moonroof and power liftgate?
Yes. Toyota lists a power tilt-and-slide moonroof and power liftgate among the XLE Premium’s added features. Since a used vehicle’s equipment may depend on its original build and installed packages, confirm both features on the specific vehicle rather than relying on the trim name alone.
What is the difference between the RAV4 XLE and XLE Premium?
The XLE Premium builds on the XLE with more comfort and appearance equipment. The clearest distinctions in Toyota’s model-year feature list are SofTex-trimmed seating, an 8-way power driver’s seat with lumbar support, a leather-trimmed steering wheel, 19-inch alloy wheels, integrated LED fog lights, a power moonroof and a power liftgate. Compare vehicles from the same model year and with the same gas or hybrid powertrain and drivetrain; package content can affect the equipment on a specific car.

What safety features does Toyota list?
Toyota lists Toyota Safety Sense 2.5, the Star Safety System, eight airbags, and Blind Spot Monitor with Rear Cross-Traffic Alert for the 2023 XLE Premium. Verify a used vehicle’s installed equipment and check its VIN for vehicle-specific information, since package-dependent content and the car’s actual build may differ.

Toyota Owners’ 2023 RAV4 page provides the model-year owner’s manual and related multimedia, driving-support and warranty resources. Toyota’s general new-vehicle warranty summary lists basic coverage of 36 months/36,000 miles and powertrain coverage of 60 months/60,000 miles. These are general terms, subject to the applicable warranty guide and vehicle-specific eligibility; they do not establish that a used RAV4 still has coverage. Check the in-service date, mileage, market and applicable warranty terms.
