The production package detailed by Ford and RTR is the 2026 Mustang EcoBoost RTR, not an established 2025-model-year package. Announced on October 15, 2025, it keeps the EcoBoost’s 2.3-liter turbocharged four-cylinder and adds Dark Horse-derived chassis hardware, GT steering and cooling components, Brembo brakes, active-valve exhaust, anti-lag technology and RTR-specific styling. RTR said deliveries were slated to begin in summer 2026; the announcement did not establish a price or current dealer availability.
Is there a 2025 Ford Mustang RTR?
Ford previewed a Mustang RTR in January 2025, but the detailed factory-package announcement from Ford and RTR identifies the car as the 2026 Mustang EcoBoost RTR. Ford’s January 2025 model-year overview covers changes to the 2025 Mustang lineup; it does not establish a 2025 production RTR package. The distinction matters: the available sources describe a 2025 EcoBoost and a later-announced 2026 RTR package, not a package confirmed for ordering on a 2025 car. See Ford’s 2025 Mustang changes and the 2025 Mustang technical specifications.
Ford and RTR announced the package on October 15, 2025. RTR said it would be offered on fastbacks with either the base EcoBoost and High package or EcoBoost Premium, with deliveries slated to begin in summer 2026. That announcement is a stated plan, not confirmation of current inventory or open dealer orders. The RTR announcement and Ford’s package feature list do not give a package price.
What does the EcoBoost RTR add?
The package retains the 2.3-liter EcoBoost four-cylinder with a twin-scroll turbocharger. Ford and RTR state torque of 350 pound-feet; the announcement does not provide a package-specific horsepower figure or independent acceleration or lap-time results. Its central changes are chassis and steering hardware, brakes, exhaust and engine-response calibration, alongside distinctive exterior and cabin details.

Dark Horse-derived chassis hardware
Ford lists the Mustang Dark Horse adjustable strut alignment bracket, Dark Horse Handling Pack front and rear stabilizer bars, and a Dark Horse rear subframe with stiffer-rate bushings. These are specified as package components; the announcement does not quantify their effect on grip, cornering or lap times.
GT steering, cooling and brakes
The RTR gets a Mustang GT steering rack angle with 72.5 millimeters of additional travel and a GT 600-watt cooling fan. Braking hardware comes from the Mustang GT Performance Package: 15.3-inch front rotors and six-piston front calipers. The feature list identifies the parts but does not publish comparative stopping-distance results.

Anti-lag, exhaust and calibration
Ford and RTR say the package includes a standard active-valve performance exhaust and Ford-patented, race-derived anti-lag intended to improve throttle response by helping keep the turbo ready to deliver boost during intense driving. The RTR also has its own stability-control tune and a package-specific calibration for available MagneRide dampers. Those are stated design aims and equipment details, not independently measured performance gains. The announcement does not specify detailed anti-lag operating conditions.
Exterior and cabin details
Exterior equipment includes a Mustang GT front fascia, RTR-lit grille openings and badges, Tarnished Dark Anodized mirror caps and pony badges, graphics, and 19-by-9.5-inch wheels with a 30-millimeter offset. A GT Performance Pack raised rear wing, RTR decklid and fender badges, and Avalanche Gray paint are also listed. Optional appearance choices include Hyper Lime brake calipers and a Hyper Lime Appearance Package with distinctive graphics.

Inside, the package adds Hyper Lime stitching and accents, a powder-coated Hyper Lime electric drift-brake lever, a serialized RTR dash plaque and illuminated co-branded sill plates. Ford also lists a no-cost black-interior option with Metal Gray stitching and a black belt.
Which parts come from the Dark Horse?
The announced Dark Horse-derived pieces are specific chassis components, rather than the whole Dark Horse performance package: an adjustable strut alignment bracket, Handling Pack front and rear stabilizer bars, and a rear subframe with stiffer-rate bushings. Other RTR equipment is sourced from Mustang GT configurations, including the steering-rack angle, cooling fan, front fascia and GT Performance Package Brembo brakes. The RTR remains an EcoBoost-based car with a 2.3-liter turbocharged four-cylinder, not a V8 Dark Horse.

Can a 2025 EcoBoost get the 2026 RTR package?
The cited announcements do not establish that the complete package can be ordered for, or retrofitted to, a 2025 EcoBoost. They also do not establish fitment of the 2026 RTR wheels or chassis parts on 2025 cars. Ford’s 2025 specifications list a 17-by-7.5-inch standard EcoBoost wheel with 235/55R tires, plus 18-, 19- and 20-inch options; the 2025 Performance Package uses 19-by-9-inch wheels with summer tires. The RTR’s announced 19-by-9.5-inch wheel specification is different. A shared model name or wheel diameter alone does not verify fitment.
Ford’s January 2025 overview does mention optional active-valve exhaust on the EcoBoost 100A, along with other 2025 lineup changes. That does not make a 2025 car an RTR or confirm compatibility with the later package’s other equipment. Confirm any proposed parts or retrofit with Ford or an authorized parts and service source for the specific vehicle before purchasing or installing them.

What is known—and not known—about price and availability?
RTR’s announcement projected delivery starts for summer 2026 and named the eligible fastback configurations: base EcoBoost with the High package and EcoBoost Premium. It does not verify live orderability, dealer stock or a package price. Prospective buyers should ask a Ford dealer for current order status and pricing rather than treating the announcement’s delivery target as proof that cars are presently available.
Ford and RTR describe the package as a more responsive, more engaging turbocharged Mustang. Those are manufacturer claims; the cited materials do not include independent testing to establish real-world acceleration, handling gains or a direct performance comparison with the GT or Dark Horse.
