Why is the Bahrain GP being held in Malaysia?
This is the Bahrain-named Grand Prix relocated to Sepang, not a standard Malaysian Grand Prix. Formula 1 and the FIA announced on 26 July that Malaysia would host the event on 2–4 October; Formula 1’s event-week guide identifies Sepang as the venue. At the time of the announcement, the arrangement was described as subject to final agreements and official sign-off. Formula 1 President and CEO Stefano Domenicali said, “We are delighted to confirm that Malaysia will host the Bahrain Grand Prix in 2026.”
