What is the difference between the Cadillac OPTIQ and LYRIQ?
Cadillac positions the OPTIQ as its smaller, lower-priced electric SUV and the LYRIQ as the larger model. The most useful comparison is by drivetrain and intended use, not just the model names: the listed range differs between rear-wheel drive (RWD) and all-wheel drive (AWD), and the vehicles have different charge ports.
The figures below are Cadillac’s published U.S. model-year 2026 specifications. Cadillac labels range as EPA-estimated, and its power and charging figures are manufacturer estimates. Starting prices are not dealer quotes or out-the-door prices.

How much does a 2026 Cadillac OPTIQ cost compared with a LYRIQ?
Cadillac lists the 2026 OPTIQ Luxury from $49,995, Sport from $50,600 and Premium Sport from $53,600. The 2026 LYRIQ starts at $59,200. Those published entry prices make the OPTIQ the less expensive starting point, but they do not establish the final price of a particular vehicle.
Compare the exact trim, drivetrain, options and dealer quote before deciding how large the price difference is for the vehicles you can actually buy. The listed starting prices do not include a verified calculation of taxes, destination charge, incentives, dealer discounts or other out-the-door costs. Cadillac’s model pages provide the current configuration details: OPTIQ and LYRIQ.
Which has more range: OPTIQ or LYRIQ?
Cadillac lists the OPTIQ at 317 EPA-estimated miles with RWD and 303 miles with AWD. The LYRIQ is listed at 326 miles with RWD and 319 miles with AWD in its standard 11.5 kW AC charging configuration. On those published figures, the LYRIQ estimate is higher for each drivetrain pairing, though the size of the difference depends on configuration.

Does the Cadillac LYRIQ use a NACS or CCS charging port?
The 2026 OPTIQ is listed with a NACS charge port. The LYRIQ is listed with CCS1. Cadillac says a GM-approved NACS DC adapter, sold separately, allows a LYRIQ to access Tesla Superchargers. Check that the adapter and charging station are compatible with the specific vehicle and stop you plan to use; the adapter is not identified as necessary for the OPTIQ, which has NACS onboard.
What Cadillac says about charging speed
Cadillac lists maximum DC fast-charging rates of 150 kW for OPTIQ and 190 kW for LYRIQ. Its headline estimates say the OPTIQ can add up to 81 miles in about 10 minutes and the LYRIQ up to 86 miles in about 10 minutes. These are manufacturer estimates, not a full-charge time or a guarantee that every charging session will deliver the same result. Vehicle, battery and charger conditions affect charging.

For Level 2 charging, Cadillac lists the OPTIQ at 36 miles per hour with standard 11.5 kW charging or 59 miles per hour with available 19.2 kW charging. The LYRIQ figures are 31 miles per hour at standard 11.5 kW or 50 miles per hour with available 19.2 kW charging. These are Cadillac’s estimates; actual results depend on the vehicle and charging conditions.
What comes with the charging cord?
Cadillac says both models arrive with a 20-foot, 7.7 kW dual-level charging cord. Home charging suitability still depends on the outlet, electrical service and parking setup. For a Level 2 installation, assess the home’s electrical capacity and installation requirements with a qualified electrician rather than assuming a particular charger or installation cost.

The LYRIQ is larger by Cadillac’s listed dimensions: it is 196.7 inches long with a 121.8-inch wheelbase, compared with the OPTIQ at 190 inches long and a 116-inch wheelbase. It also has more listed cargo space: 28 cu. ft. behind the rear seats and 60.8 cu. ft. with the seats folded, versus 26 and 57 cu. ft. for OPTIQ.

The difference is useful if you regularly carry passengers or bulky cargo, but the published volume figures do not replace checking how a particular load fits. If parking space or garage length is tight, compare the vehicles’ dimensions with your available space.
Which Cadillac EV is better for towing?
Cadillac lists towing capacity at 3,500 lb for LYRIQ and 1,500 lb for OPTIQ, so the LYRIQ has the higher published capacity. Before towing, verify the rating and required equipment for the exact vehicle and configuration, along with the trailer’s loaded weight and applicable towing guidance.

OPTIQ trims
Cadillac’s 2026 OPTIQ page lists Luxury, Sport and Premium Sport. The page describes Premium Sport with features including a head-up display, passenger-seat memory, ventilated and massaging front seats, heated rear outboard seats, lighting features and a rear cargo cover. Equipment and availability can depend on the build, so confirm the specific vehicle’s window sticker or configuration rather than treating a trim-page description as proof that every example has every item.

LYRIQ equipment
Cadillac’s 2026 LYRIQ model page describes standard Super Cruise with a three-year OnStar One plan and a 33-inch Horizon Display. Do not assume every feature shown or described applies identically to every LYRIQ trim; check the selected trim’s equipment details on Cadillac’s LYRIQ model page.
Which one should you choose?
- Choose OPTIQ if: you want the lower listed starting price, a more compact vehicle, or an onboard NACS charge port.
- Choose LYRIQ if: you need more listed cargo room, a higher published towing capacity, or prefer its larger dimensions and power figures.
- Compare configurations carefully if range is decisive: the LYRIQ’s published EPA estimates are higher in both RWD and AWD, but the figures are configuration-specific estimates rather than real-world guarantees.
