Cadillac rates the standard car at 668 hp and 659 lb-ft. Calling it “the last great V8 sedan” is a judgment about what the car represents—not a verified claim that it is the final V8 sedan or that 2026 is its last model year.
What makes the CT5-V Blackwing distinctive?
The Blackwing pairs a hand-built 6.2L supercharged V8 with a rear-wheel-drive layout and a standard six-speed manual. That combination makes it unusual among modern high-performance sedans, where automatic transmissions and turbocharged engines are common. Cadillac also offers a 10-speed automatic, so the manual is the default rather than the only way to configure the car.
The appeal is not simply the engine’s output. A manual transmission asks the driver to manage gear changes, while rear-wheel drive gives the car a traditional performance-sedan layout. Cadillac says Super Cruise is available with the automatic configuration; buyers choosing the standard manual should not assume that driver-assistance feature is included.
How powerful and fast is the 2026 CT5-V Blackwing?
Cadillac rates the regular 2026 CT5-V Blackwing’s engine at 668 hp and 659 lb-ft when using premium gasoline. The automaker publishes a 3.4-second 0–60 mph time and a track-speed claim above 200 mph. Those are Cadillac’s figures, not independent test results established here. Cadillac’s 2026 specifications identify the V8 as hand-built and provide the performance claims.

Cadillac’s sedan lineup page lists 13 mpg city and 20 mpg highway as EPA-estimated fuel economy for the Blackwing. These are estimates, not a promise of real-world consumption; driving conditions and driving style affect results. The lineup page includes both 2025 and 2026 model-year labels, so the figure should not be treated as a detailed year-specific specification without checking the current listing. Cadillac’s sedan lineup identifies the car as rear-wheel drive.
Can it work as an everyday sedan?
For all its track-focused performance, Cadillac lists seating for five, 37 inches of rear legroom and 11.9 cubic feet of cargo volume. Those figures give the CT5-V Blackwing real sedan utility, but they do not make it equivalent to a conventional family sedan: the performance mission, powertrain and driving character remain the point.

What does the 2026 CT5-V Blackwing cost?
Cadillac’s model page lists a starting MSRP of $98,900 for the 2026 CT5-V Blackwing. Cadillac says final dealer pricing is set by the dealer; that displayed starting MSRP excludes destination freight, taxes, title, license, dealer fees and optional equipment. Verify local pricing and inventory with a dealer because neither a listed MSRP nor an announced limited edition establishes what is currently available to buy. Cadillac’s model page also describes availability as limited.
How do the Curated and F1 editions differ?
Cadillac has announced two distinct 2026 offerings beyond the standard model. Their figures and availability should not be confused with the regular 668-hp car.

“The last great V8 sedan” works as an editorial description of the Blackwing’s increasingly distinctive recipe: a large supercharged V8, rear-wheel drive and a standard manual in a usable four-door body. It is not a literal market-wide fact established by Cadillac’s model pages or announcements. Those sources list a 2026 model and call availability limited, but they do not say this is the final V8 sedan or the CT5-V Blackwing’s final year.

The stronger, supportable conclusion is narrower: the 2026 CT5-V Blackwing is a standout expression of a V8-powered, manual-transmission performance sedan, and Cadillac’s current materials show it continuing for model year 2026. Whether it is the last of its kind depends on the wider market and future model decisions, neither of which these Cadillac sources settle.
