The 2026 Cadillac CT5-V Blackwing pairs a 668-hp supercharged V8 with a six-speed manual, and Cadillac also offers a 10-speed automatic. It is an unusually compelling combination, but the available official sources do not establish that it is America’s last V8-powered manual sedan. Here’s what Cadillac confirms—and what the “last” label leaves unanswered.
Is the CT5-V Blackwing America’s last V8 manual sedan?
That claim is not established. Cadillac lists the 2026 CT5-V Blackwing with a supercharged V8 and a six-speed manual, but its current model and specification pages do not say the car is the final example of its kind or the last model year. Nor do the sources establish that no other sedan in the U.S. market meets the same description. Calling it a rare, high-performance manual V8 sedan is supportable; calling it definitively America’s last goes further than the evidence allows.
General Motors’ January 24, 2024 announcement said production of the 2025 CT5-V and CT5-V Blackwing would take place at Lansing Grand River Assembly in Michigan, with production expected to begin in summer 2024. That announcement concerns the 2025 model year; it does not identify a final production year. Cadillac’s current pages list a 2026 model.
What engine, power and performance does Cadillac publish?
For the 2026 model, Cadillac specifies a hand-built 6.2-liter supercharged V8 rated at 668 hp and 659 lb-ft of torque with premium gasoline. Cadillac also publishes a 0–60 mph time of 3.4 seconds and says the car can exceed 200 mph on a racetrack. Those acceleration and top-speed claims are the manufacturer’s figures, not independent instrumented test results.

Cadillac’s 2026 specifications page presents the powertrain and performance figures. The headline output is the same kind of V8-powered performance proposition whether you choose a manual or automatic, but verify the exact configuration and equipment on the vehicle you are considering.
Manual or 10-speed automatic: which should you choose?
The manual is the defining choice for drivers who want to operate the clutch and select gears themselves. The 10-speed automatic is the alternative for those who prefer not to shift manually. Cadillac’s 2026 page associates Super Cruise with the automatic configuration, so check the equipment and package details for the specific car rather than assuming that feature is available with every transmission.

The published 0–60 time is a Cadillac figure; it should not be read as proof that the two transmissions produce identical results in independent testing. The useful decision is whether manual engagement or automatic convenience—and the equipment tied to a particular configuration—better suits your driving.
How much does a 2026 CT5-V Blackwing cost?
Cadillac’s 2026 model page lists a starting MSRP of $98,900 and shows $131,605 for the vehicle as presented on the page. These are page figures, not a guaranteed transaction price. The displayed amount reflects a configured vehicle; options and specified charges affect the price, and the dealer sets the final price. Check the current listing and ask the dealer to itemize the exact car’s equipment, fees and asking price.

Is the 2026 Blackwing available near you?
Cadillac describes the CT5-V Blackwing as having limited availability and provides inventory, dealer-pricing and test-drive request tools on its 2026 model page. “Limited availability” does not guarantee a particular car or transmission will be in stock nearby. Search local inventory, confirm the model year and transmission with the dealer, and request a test drive before making a decision.
