The cited 2024 C40 range announcement does not establish a comparable price, and a used C40’s asking price depends on model, mileage, condition, location, and incentives. Comparing the EX30’s original MSRP with a particular used C40 listing would not establish which is the better value without those details.

For the 2024 C40, Volvo listed a maximum DC charging rate of 200 kW for the Single Motor Extended Range battery and 150 kW for the Twin Motor. Volvo’s C40 Recharge 2024 support guidance says charging times are approximate and depend on factors such as battery and ambient temperature, preconditioning, equipment, battery size and condition, and charging infrastructure. It gives a 10–80% example of 27 minutes with a 150 kW station under its stated battery-temperature condition.

Volvo announced a 10–80% charging time of a little over 25 minutes for the 2025 EX30 Twin Motor Performance under its stated conditions. A current EX30 specification page also gives charging examples for later/current configurations, but those figures should not be treated as a historical specification for every 2025 EX30.
Planning for home charging
Both cars can be considered for AC home charging, but the time required depends on the exact vehicle version, charger output, home electrical service, and battery conditions. They should not be mixed with the January 2025 Twin Motor Performance prices above.
