Toyota Australia announced launch prices of $43,240 for the 2025 GR86 GT, $45,390 for the GTS and $49,600 for the Limited Edition, all before on-road costs. The Limited Edition was capped at 86 cars for Australia and adds distinctive trim and the Dynamic Performance Pack to the GTS. Toyota also revised the range’s shock absorbers, electric power steering and transmission response. These are launch figures and details announced in 2024, not a current dealer quote.
2025 Toyota GR86 prices in Australia
Toyota Australia’s announced manufacturer recommended retail prices were:

Toyota’s prices exclude statutory charges and other on-road costs, which vary by state. Optional paint and features can add to the price; CarExpert’s 14 October 2024 report lists premium paint at $575. Drive-away totals and current availability should be confirmed with a Toyota dealer. Toyota Australia’s Limited Edition announcement and updated-range announcement provide the launch figures; CarExpert’s report independently repeats the three grade prices.
What the Limited Edition adds
The Limited Edition is based on the GTS fitted with the Dynamic Performance Pack. Toyota announced just 86 examples for Australia. It does not receive a higher engine output: Toyota’s stated power and torque remain 174kW and 250Nm.

Toyota says the dampers are intended to balance ride comfort and dynamic handling. The Brembo braking equipment is part of the performance pack; the Limited Edition’s distinction is its combination of that equipment with the unique paint, wheels and cabin finish. Toyota’s announcement sets out the edition’s equipment and production limit.
Mechanical updates across the 2025 range
Toyota says feedback from professional motorsport drivers informed the updated GR86’s changes. The company retuned the shock absorbers and electric power steering to target a more direct handling response and feel. Those are Toyota’s stated aims, not independently measured improvements.

- Manual: Toyota revised throttle characteristics to improve response and driveability.
- Automatic: Toyota revised downshift behaviour, including a wider engine-speed tolerance range and downshifts at higher rpm.
The updates are intended to refine how the car responds; they do not alter Toyota’s announced engine output. Toyota’s updated-range announcement describes the changes.
Engine, drivetrain and acceleration
All grades use a naturally aspirated 2.4-litre engine rated by Toyota at 174kW and 250Nm. Power goes to the rear wheels, and Toyota lists a limited-slip differential as standard. Buyers can choose a six-speed manual or six-speed automatic.

Toyota’s October 2024 brochure gives a 0–100km/h time of 6.3 seconds. That is a manufacturer-published figure, not an independent test result. Toyota’s Limited Edition announcement said the new range would arrive in Australian showrooms in December 2024; its later range announcement said the upgraded GR86 was on sale. The announcements establish the original launch timing, but not how many of the 86 Limited Editions remain available in 2026. For a purchase decision, ask a dealer for current stock, delivery timing, the applicable price and any on-road charges for your state.
