Its wagon-like profile is unusual, but the appeal is practical as well as visual: Toyota lists 240 net combined horsepower and EPA estimates of 39 mpg city, 37 highway and 38 combined. The Limited’s premium equipment is compelling, though its original MSRP was $4,400 above the XLE and its published cargo figures are slightly lower.
What makes the Crown Signia look unusual?
The Crown Signia sits in an uncommon middle ground: Toyota gives it the hatch and cargo orientation of a crossover, but its long, low-looking roofline reads more like a wagon than a conventional tall SUV. Calling it “weird” is a matter of taste, not a measured vehicle attribute. The shape is the point for buyers drawn to something less familiar than a typical two-row crossover.
This is the Crown Signia crossover, not the separate Toyota Crown sedan. Toyota’s U.S. materials describe the 2025 Signia in XLE and Limited grades, both with standard hybrid all-wheel drive.
How does the Limited drive on paper, and what fuel economy is listed?
Toyota specifies a 2.5-liter four-cylinder hybrid system, all-wheel drive and 240 net combined horsepower for the 2025 model. The manufacturer’s EPA estimates are 39 mpg city, 37 highway and 38 combined; Toyota notes that actual mileage varies with driving conditions. These figures are shared by XLE and Limited. See Toyota’s 2025 Crown Signia brochure.

Consumer Reports lists 37 mpg overall for the 2025 Limited it purchased for a road test. That is one outlet’s reported result, not a universal owner outcome or a replacement for the EPA estimate; its 2025 road-test report is the source for that figure.
What does the Limited add over the XLE?
The Limited’s premium is mainly an equipment choice rather than a powertrain upgrade. Toyota’s original U.S. launch announcement priced the Limited at $47,990 and the XLE at $43,590, each before delivery, processing and handling. That is a $4,400 launch-MSRP difference, not a current dealer quote or a prediction of what a buyer will pay. Toyota’s launch announcement provides the original figures.

Equipment and cargo figures are from Toyota’s 2025 brochure. Toyota lists an Advanced Technology Package as optional; do not assume its features are included on every Limited. The roof is fixed glass, not an opening sunroof.
Does the Limited make sense for your needs?
Choose the Limited if its upgrades matter to you
The 21-inch wheels, fixed panoramic glass roof, 11-speaker JBL system, digital rearview mirror, rain-sensing wipers and Digital Key capability are the Limited’s clearest reasons to pay more. The roof’s power sunshade lets you cover the glass, but Toyota does not describe it as an opening roof. If the design and cabin equipment are the attraction, the Limited packages them together.

Consider the XLE if value and cargo capacity come first
The XLE shares the Limited’s listed hybrid system, AWD, horsepower and EPA estimates, while Toyota’s published cargo volume is higher: 25.8 rather than 24.8 cu. ft. behind the rear seats, and 68.8 rather than 66.1 cu. ft. with them folded. Those are the trim-specific brochure figures, so the Limited should not be credited with the XLE’s larger maximum.
Check local pricing before deciding
Toyota’s currently surfaced 2025 Crown Signia page shows base MSRP figures of $44,090 for XLE and $48,490 for Limited, different from the launch announcement’s original prices. These are source- and timing-specific MSRP figures, not transaction prices. Compare the actual local vehicle, equipment and out-the-door quote rather than treating either MSRP as a guaranteed deal.

What should buyers know about towing and connected features?
Toyota lists up to 2,700 pounds of towing capacity for both grades. The usable maximum depends on the vehicle’s curb weight plus occupants, cargo and equipment; check trailer compatibility and the owner’s manual rather than assuming every loaded Signia can tow the headline maximum. Toyota also warns that a hitch installed near the rear bumper can require disabling or removing the hands-free liftgate kick sensor.
Digital Key is a capability, not a promise of permanent free connected service. Toyota says it depends on equipment and an active Remote Connect trial or subscription, and connected-service availability can depend on network and other conditions. Traffic Jam Assist and other driver-support features also have limits: Toyota says Traffic Jam Assist is not an automated driving system, requires driver supervision and is intended for controlled-access freeways at 25 mph or less. Consult Toyota’s brochure disclosures for feature and operating details.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problems2Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitches3Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errorsWhat remains uncertain from the available information?
The published material establishes specifications and equipment, but not long-term reliability, repair costs, local inventory, dealer discounts or a broad independent ownership consensus. It also does not establish a trim-specific measured headroom difference between XLE and Limited, so a shopper concerned about the panoramic roof should sit in the Limited and check personally rather than rely on an unverified number.
