“2025 Suzuki Wagon R” refers to two different market updates, not one global specification. Suzuki’s Japan-market revision went on sale on 15 December 2025, adding updated safety equipment, revised front styling and selected comfort features. India’s Maruti Suzuki WagonR MY2025 update is separate, with different engines and reported safety additions. The details below keep the two versions distinct.
What changed on the Japan-market Wagon R?
Suzuki described its 15 December 2025 announcement as a partial specification change, with sales beginning that day. It also applied the changes to the Wagon R with lift-up seat in the With series. The main updates concern braking assistance, the driver display, front-end design and selected comfort equipment—not a new global model with identical specifications in every country. Suzuki’s Japan announcement provides the manufacturer’s details.
Safety and driver-assistance equipment
Suzuki made Dual Sensor Brake Support II, its collision-damage mitigation braking system, and a color 4.2-inch multi-information display standard equipment. Lane-departure suppression also became standard. These are the manufacturer’s equipment claims; the announcement does not provide an independent crash-test rating or safety assessment.
Front design and colors
The revised front consolidates the exterior around the Custom Z look, with a more dimensional grille and textured 3D details. Suzuki added Velvet Dark Red Pearl and Lucent Beige Pearl Metallic to the color choices.

Comfort and refinement
A heated steering wheel is specified for the HYBRID ZX. Suzuki says damping adhesive and other changes improve ride comfort, handling stability and quietness. Those are manufacturer claims; no independent road or instrumented ride-and-noise test is established here.
Japan engines, fuel economy and prices
The Japan-market range described in Suzuki’s announcement has two trims. ZL uses a 0.66L DOHC engine with intake and exhaust VVT; HYBRID ZX uses an engine of the same displacement with a mild-hybrid system. The figures below are Japan’s WLTC fuel-consumption figures and historical manufacturer suggested prices published with the December 2025 release. Suzuki says taxes, fees and some other charges are excluded, so these are not current dealer quotes.

Suzuki’s specifications and price sheet has the full release details. WLTC figures should not be compared directly with figures for another market unless the test method and vehicle configuration are also considered.
Optional camera and connectivity packages
Suzuki lists camera and Suzuki Connect communications-unit packages as factory options. The around-view package for HYBRID ZX includes front, side and rear cameras, associated antennas and a USB socket, and assumes a compatible navigation system. Listed prices are from the December 2025 Japan release; check current availability and pricing with a Japanese Suzuki dealer.

What is different about India’s Maruti Suzuki WagonR MY2025?
India’s WagonR is not the Japan-market 0.66L kei car. Maruti Suzuki’s FY2024–25 description lists 1.0L and 1.2L K-Series Dual Jet Dual VVT engines, manual and Auto Gear Shift transmissions, and an S-CNG variant. It also lists the HEARTECT platform, ABS with EBD, ESP, Hill Hold Assist and a 17.78 cm SmartPlay Studio infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. These are India-market details, not equipment to attribute to the Japanese revision. Maruti Suzuki’s FY2024–25 release describes the model and its sales.

Autocar India reported that the India MY2025 update added six airbags and a three-point rear-center seatbelt; it also said Maruti had not disclosed updated mileage figures at the time of publication. For current Indian variant-level fitment, prices and mileage, check current Maruti Suzuki information rather than assuming every variant has the same equipment or reusing a past price. Suzuki Motor Corporation said the global Wagon R series reached 10 million cumulative sales by June 2025 and had been sold in more than 75 countries and regions, according to its August 2025 release. That series total includes Wagon R Wide, Wagon R+ and Wagon R Solio; it is not a count solely of the Japan-market car described above. Suzuki’s August 2025 milestone announcement gives the scope of the figure.

Separately, Maruti Suzuki reported 198,451 India-market WagonR units for FY2024–25 and called it India’s highest-selling car for that financial year, based on the JATO study definition cited by the company. This is an India financial-year figure, not part of Suzuki’s global series total. Maruti Suzuki’s release explains the company’s claim.

How to choose the right 2025 Wagon R information
- Start with the market. Japan’s 0.66L ZL and HYBRID ZX details do not describe India’s 1.0L, 1.2L or S-CNG variants.
- For Japan, match trim and configuration. ZL has manual and CVT configurations; HYBRID ZX is CVT. Drivetrain changes both the WLTC figure and price.
- Separate standard equipment from options. The Japan release identifies standard braking/display/lane features, while camera packages are listed as options.
- For India, verify the specific variant. The cited report covers the MY2025 safety update, but current prices, mileage and exact variant fitment should be checked with Maruti Suzuki.
