Model year 2025 is now in the past, so this is a retrospective guide—not a list of SUVs still “coming” or a current ranking. The verified manufacturer announcements below cover compact, midsize and full-size SUVs with gasoline, hybrid, plug-in hybrid and electric powertrains. They do not establish 15 models that all fit a $30,000–$100,000 budget, nor do they provide current dealer prices.

What new SUVs were announced for the 2025 model year?

The announcements offer a useful cross-section of the U.S. market, but not a complete or ranked top 15. The prices below are historical manufacturer MSRPs, not current transaction prices. Where the manufacturer stated a destination or delivery charge separately, it is identified separately; those fees can change the amount a buyer pays.

Model Type and powertrain details in the announcement 2025 price information
2025 Nissan Rogue Compact SUV. Rock Creek adds standard AWD, all-terrain tires, Hill Descent Control and a tubular roof rack. Nissan’s 2024 announcement listed trim and drivetrain MSRPs from $29,230 to $40,920, plus $1,390 destination and handling. Source
2025 Volvo EX30 Electric compact SUV. The cited Twin Motor Performance variant is AWD; Volvo reported up to 253 miles of range for its extended-range version. Volvo announced a $44,900 starting MSRP for Plus and $46,600 for Ultra. Source
2025 Volvo EX90 Fully electric, seven-seat SUV. Volvo claimed up to 310 miles of range and charging from 10% to 80% in about 30 minutes. Volvo announced a $79,995 starting MSRP. Source
2025 Volvo XC90 Mild-hybrid B5 and B6 versions and T8 plug-in hybrid versions. Volvo listed 2025 starting MSRPs by configuration from $57,400 to $80,100. The announcement listed 2025.5 pricing separately; the two model-year labels should not be conflated. Source
2025 Mazda CX-70 Midsize, two-row crossover SUV with standard AWD. Available mild-hybrid inline-six and plug-in hybrid powertrains. Mazda announced starting MSRPs of $40,445 for 3.3 Turbo, $52,450 for 3.3 Turbo S and $54,400 for PHEV. Source
2025 Mazda CX-5 Compact SUV; Mazda said U.S. models retain standard AWD. Mazda announced a $29,050 starting MSRP. Its newsroom page later records 2025 price adjustments, so this launch figure is historical, not necessarily the final MSRP for every trim. Source
2025 Chevrolet Tahoe and Suburban Refreshed full-size SUVs. Chevrolet announced new exterior and interior designs, a standard 17.7-inch-diagonal infotainment screen, an available second-generation 3.0L Duramax diesel, and ride and handling changes. Price not stated in the cited announcement. Source
2025 Kia Sportage Compact SUV offered with gasoline, hybrid and plug-in hybrid powertrains. Kia’s 2024 announcement listed trim MSRPs from $27,390 to $44,390 before a $1,395 destination charge. Some versions therefore started below the title’s $30,000 threshold. Source
2025 Toyota 4Runner All-new SUV with a 2.4-liter turbo i-FORCE engine and a turbo hybrid i-FORCE MAX option on specified grades; Toyota announced nine grades. The announcement excerpt gives a $40,770 starting MSRP plus $1,450 delivery processing and handling. Confirm trim details and availability with Toyota or a dealer. Source
2025 Chevrolet Equinox Chevrolet described a next-generation compact SUV with new styling and technology. Price and detailed specifications are not stated in the cited material. Source

How much did a 2025 SUV cost?

In these announcements, listed starting MSRPs range from below $30,000 to nearly $80,000, but the figures are not directly comparable without checking the trim and fee basis. The Rogue, Sportage and 4Runner announcements explicitly separate destination or delivery charges from MSRP. Prices for Tahoe, Suburban and Equinox are not provided in the cited announcements, so they cannot be assigned a supported budget bracket here.

MSRP is not the same as the price a buyer pays today. Dealer pricing, inventory, incentives, taxes, options and fees affect an actual purchase, and the cited sources do not establish current transaction prices.

How to compare these SUVs for your needs

Start with the vehicle’s size and seating

The list spans compact crossovers, the two-row CX-70, and large Tahoe and Suburban SUVs. The EX90 is specifically described by Volvo as a seven-seat SUV. Match the vehicle’s verified seating and cargo needs to your household rather than treating all SUVs as interchangeable.

Choose the powertrain that fits your use

  • Gasoline: The cited announcements identify gasoline offerings within models such as the Sportage and 4Runner.
  • Mild hybrid: Volvo’s 2025 XC90 B5 and B6 versions and Mazda CX-70 inline-six options are described as mild hybrids.
  • Plug-in hybrid: The CX-70 PHEV, XC90 T8 and Sportage PHEV offer a distinct plug-in-hybrid choice; the cited sources do not provide a consistent, comparable electric-range figure for these entries.
  • Fully electric: The EX30 and EX90 are electric. Volvo’s range and charging figures are manufacturer claims, not independent real-world test results.

Check the specific trim and equipment

Features may depend on configuration. For example, Nissan identifies Rock Creek-specific off-road equipment, and Toyota says the hybrid 4Runner powertrain is available on specified grades. Compare the exact trim’s AWD, seating, equipment and included features against its price, rather than relying on a model name alone.

Is this a top-15 ranking of the best SUVs under $100,000?

No. The verified announcements establish examples, not a tested or comprehensive top-15 selection. They do not support a claim that every listed SUV falls between $30,000 and $100,000: some starting MSRPs are below $30,000, some models have no price in the cited announcement, and trim and delivery fees alter the comparison. No independent driving, reliability, safety, real-world range or transaction-price testing is represented here.

For a purchase, use these historical announcements to identify models and powertrain types, then confirm current model availability, the exact trim’s MSRP, fees and dealer price from the manufacturer and local retailers.
