The Rimac Nevera R is a more cornering-focused evolution of the electric Nevera, not simply a faster top-speed edition. Rimac announced the 2,107-hp, 108-kWh hypercar in August 2024 as a limited run of 40, with revised aerodynamics, tires, brakes and torque control aimed at sharper handling. Its headline numbers have since changed with a later record test: Rimac listed a 412 km/h top speed at launch, then reported 431.45 km/h in July 2025. Those figures describe different contexts, not a single interchangeable specification.
What the Nevera R is meant to change
Rimac frames the standard Nevera as a “Hyper GT” and the R as a more focused “Hyper Sportscar.” The distinction is about priorities: the original was developed as a spacious, comfortable grand tourer, while the R was shaped around cornering, grip and driver feedback without giving up the Nevera’s extreme straight-line performance. Rimac introduced it on August 16, 2024, and announced a worldwide production run of 40 cars. Rimac’s launch announcement quotes Mate Rimac describing it as “all the DNA of the record-breaking Nevera, but lighter, faster and more focused.”

The contrast is also visible in the stated production limits: Rimac announced 40 Nevera R units, while its standard Nevera engineering page describes the original model as limited to 150. These are manufacturer-published figures.
Nevera R performance: launch figures versus the later record test
Rimac has published multiple sets of numbers for the R. The August 2024 launch specifications should not be collapsed into the July 2025 record-test results: the latter came from a specific high-speed run and included a claimed 431.45 km/h top speed. Rimac says Dewesoft independently verified the July test.

The product page’s 430 km/h figure is a rounded manufacturer-oversight specification; the 431.45 km/h number is Rimac’s more precise result from its July 2025 record test. The difference in precision and context matters more than treating the two as a contradiction.
What the 25.79-second figure actually means
The 25.79-second result is for a complete 0–400–0 km/h (0–249–0 mph) acceleration-and-braking run, not an acceleration time alone. Rimac says the July 2025 run was conducted in high-speed mode and independently verified by Dewesoft. The same announcement says the car set 24 performance records. These are claims attached to a particular test, not evidence of what a road driver can reproduce in ordinary conditions.

The R’s hardware changes target aerodynamic load, tire grip and control at each wheel. Rimac’s figures below are manufacturer claims; the available sources do not provide an independent test of the handling improvements.
Aero and tires
- Fixed rear wing and larger diffuser: Rimac says the revised aero adds 15% downforce and improves aerodynamic efficiency by 10% compared with the standard Nevera.
- Michelin Cup 2 tires: Rimac says the tires contribute to 10% less understeer and 5% more lateral grip. It also reports a 3.8-second improvement on the Nardò Handling Track.
Torque vectoring, steering and braking
- Recalibrated all-wheel torque vectoring: The car uses four individual motors. In its July 2025 announcement, Rimac says the system adjusts power to each wheel 100 times per second, a control strategy intended to manage the car’s very high output through corners as well as in a straight line.
- Steering and traction control: Rimac cites steering refinements and wet-condition traction-control changes alongside the revised torque-vectoring calibration.
- EVO2 carbon-ceramic brakes: Rimac specifies a silicone-matrix layer for the R’s brake system.
Rimac lists 2,107 hp and a next-generation 108-kWh battery for the Nevera R. The standard Nevera engineering page describes a 120-kWh battery, but that is a specification for the original model and should not be carried over to the R. See the R product page and the standard Nevera engineering page.
What the numbers do—and do not—show
The Nevera R’s performance story combines a launch specification with a later, manufacturer-announced record test. The later results are faster than the 2024 launch figures for several acceleration measures, while the published top-speed figures vary by context and precision. Rimac says the R’s engineering focus is cornering, but the percentages for grip, understeer, aero and lap-time improvement remain the company’s claims rather than independent comparative findings in the cited material.
