The 2025 Porsche 911 GT3 RS starts at $241,300 in the U.S., before a $1,995 delivery, processing and handling fee, tax, title, registration, and dealer charges. It is the carryover 992-generation road-legal track special, using a 518-hp naturally aspirated 4.0-liter flat-six, seven-speed PDK, rear-wheel drive, active aerodynamics, and a Porsche-claimed 0–60-mph time of 3.0 seconds.
That is the official starting price—not the price of an optioned or scarce dealer car. One Porsche Finder example was listed at $317,305 with the Weissach Package, while individual dealer-held or used 2025 examples were advertised above $460,000 and $550,000.

2025 Porsche 911 GT3 RS photos
Porsche’s U.S. Newsroom provides official downloadable 911 GT3 RS photography covering the exterior, interior, track use, studio views, and aerodynamic details. Those images are the best editorial source for this car. When selecting photos, show the rear wing extending above the roofline, the louvered front fenders, hood outlets, center-radiator openings, bucket-seat interior, and the track-focused steering-wheel controls.
- Exterior: The swan-neck rear wing, front splitter, sideblades, roof fins, and louvered fenders make the aerodynamic purpose obvious.
- Interior: Standard full bucket seats and the steering-wheel mode and damping controls distinguish the RS from a conventional 911.
- Track: Track photography best illustrates the car’s low stance, wide tires, active aero surfaces, and braking hardware.
- Aerodynamics: Close-up images of the active front elements, rear wing, air outlets, and aero wishbones explain more than a general three-quarter view.

Some original global 992 GT3 RS press material lists 517 hp, while Porsche’s U.S. listings specify 518 hp. This article uses the U.S.-market figure. Likewise, the later global price references sometimes reported at approximately $250,000 should not replace Porsche Cars North America’s official 2025 U.S. MSRP.
What makes the GT3 RS different?
The GT3 RS is not simply a more powerful 911 GT3. Its defining engineering objective is managing air at high speed. Porsche designed the 992-generation car around a central radiator layout, which leaves room at the front of the car for active aerodynamic components rather than the more conventional arrangement used by less extreme 911 variants.
Active aerodynamics, DRS, and airbrake function
Continuously adjustable front wing elements work with the upper element of the large swan-neck rear wing and the rest of the bodywork to balance downforce between the axles. Porsche quotes up to 901 lb of total downforce at 124 mph and 1,896 lb at 177 mph for the original 992 GT3 RS specification.
The GT3 RS was also the first Porsche production car to receive a drag-reduction system. When operating conditions allow, the driver can use DRS to flatten the wings and reduce aerodynamic drag on a straight. The same aerodynamic hardware can serve as an airbrake: during heavy high-speed braking, the surfaces move into a position that adds aerodynamic deceleration.
The rear wing’s upper edge sits above the roofline, an unusual feature that is functional rather than decorative. The aero package also includes a front splitter, sideblades, hood outlets, louvered front fenders, roof fins, rear-wheel-arch airflow management, and a modified rear diffuser. Each element is part of the car’s effort to generate and control downforce, extract hot air, or keep airflow attached and predictable.
Aero wishbones and suspension
The front suspension uses a double-wishbone design with teardrop-shaped aerodynamic links. Porsche says those links contribute approximately 88 lb of additional front-axle downforce at top track speed. The rear suspension uses a motorsport-influenced multi-link arrangement, and rear-axle steering is integrated into the chassis system.

In Normal and Sport modes, the car retains preset road-oriented behavior. Track mode gives the driver substantially more setup authority. Rotary controls on the steering wheel can adjust front- and rear-axle compression and rebound damping, as well as the rear differential. Porsche Active Suspension Management, Porsche Torque Vectoring Plus, rear-axle steering, and multistage stability and traction controls work together as one track-oriented chassis system.
Engine and performance
The U.S.-specification 911 GT3 RS uses a 4.0-liter naturally aspirated boxer six-cylinder. It produces 518 hp, reaches 9,000 rpm, and makes approximately 342 lb-ft of torque. A seven-speed PDK transmission sends that output to the rear wheels.
That naturally aspirated layout is central to the GT3 RS identity. There is no turbocharger and no hybrid assistance in this U.S.-market 2025 model. Individual throttle bodies, dry-sump lubrication, a high-revving power delivery, and motorsport-derived development give the engine a different technical character from the turbocharged engines used in other high-output 911 variants.
Porsche lists 0–60 mph in 3.0 seconds and a 184-mph top track speed. These are manufacturer specifications, not an independent test result or a promise that every driver, surface, tire condition, or launch will reproduce them.
Brakes, wheels, tires, and lightweight construction
Brakes
The standard braking system uses large fixed-caliper brakes with 408-millimeter front steel discs and 380-millimeter rear discs. Porsche Ceramic Composite Brakes, or PCCB, are optional; the ceramic system uses 410-mm front and 390-mm rear discs. Ceramic brakes can be attractive for repeated track use because of their heat-management benefits, but they are an expensive option and are not necessary to identify the standard GT3 RS specification.
Wheels and tires
Standard forged center-lock wheels measure 20 inches at the front and 21 inches at the rear. They carry 275/35 R20 front and 335/30 R21 rear road-legal sports tires. Center-lock hardware and the unusually wide rear tire emphasize that this is a specialized performance car, even though it remains road legal.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitches2Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problems3Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minuteCarbon fiber and the weight question
Porsche uses carbon-fiber-reinforced plastic in the doors, front fenders, roof, hood, rear deck lid, and various interior components. Full bucket seats are standard. Porsche’s original technical presentation described the lightest version of the 992 GT3 RS at approximately 3,268 lb, while U.S. vehicle listings report curb weights around 3,197 lb.
Those numbers should not be treated as a contradiction. They can reflect different equipment levels and measurement conventions, such as a press-kit or DIN-style figure versus a U.S. listing’s curb-weight basis. For a specific car, the window sticker and Porsche’s equipment-dependent vehicle data are more useful than a generic headline weight.
Weissach Package: what it adds
The optional Weissach Package pushes the GT3 RS farther toward competition use and adds visible carbon-fiber details. Depending on the component, the package can show carbon-weave finishes on the hood, roof, portions of the rear wing, and the upper shells of the exterior mirrors.

Its hardware changes are more important than the appearance. Porsche specifies carbon-fiber-reinforced anti-roll bars and rear suspension components, motorsport-derived magnetic PDK paddles, and availability of forged magnesium wheels. The package is one reason a dealer car can be priced dramatically above the $241,300 base MSRP. It does not, however, turn every advertised dealer price into a new official MSRP.
Manthey Kit: a $116,160 track upgrade
Porsche announced U.S. availability of the Manthey Kit for the Type 992 911 GT3 RS in January 2025. Porsche listed the kit at $116,160 MSRP, excluding taxes and dealer installation costs. It is a serious track-oriented upgrade, not a cosmetic accessory package.
The kit includes revised aerodynamic elements, a carbon-fiber replacement rear-window panel, a shark fin, roof fins, a split-DRS rear wing with larger end plates, a wider rear diffuser, carbon-fiber aero discs, revised spring rates, semi-active coilover suspension, and track-focused brake components. The installation route matters: the kit must be ordered and installed through certified Porsche Centers.
Porsche says a Manthey-equipped GT3 RS produces more than 2,200 lb of downforce at 177 mph, a claimed 20-percent increase without additional drag. That is Porsche’s stated technical result for the kit, not an independent test finding. The upgrade makes the most sense for an owner who regularly uses a circuit and can exploit its additional aerodynamic and suspension capability; it is difficult to justify as a normal-road comfort or convenience purchase.
For readers comparing factory-supported track upgrades, the Porsche 911 GT3 RS Manthey Kit is the relevant option to investigate. Confirm current pricing, availability, vehicle compatibility, and installation charges with a certified Porsche Center.
What does a 2025 GT3 RS really cost?
There are three different numbers worth keeping separate:
- Official base MSRP: $241,300. This is the U.S. starting price announced by Porsche for the 2025 model year, with pricing unchanged as the current GT3 RS continued into 2025.
- Optioned new inventory: $317,305 in one Porsche Finder example. That vehicle included the Weissach Package and other equipment. It represents one specific transaction or inventory price, not the price of every GT3 RS.
- Dealer-held or used asking prices above $460,000 and $550,000. These listings reflect individual cars and market conditions. Mileage, specification, dealer strategy, and availability can all affect the number.
When comparing an advertisement with the official price, check the model year, whether the car is new or used, the mileage, Weissach and PCCB equipment, wheels, paint, and the difference between an asking price and an actual completed transaction. Also add the $1,995 delivery, processing and handling fee and the tax, title, registration, and dealer charges excluded from MSRP.
Is the 911 GT3 RS practical on the road?
It is road legal, but its priorities are clear. The full bucket seats, wide sports tires, center-lock wheels, stiff track-oriented chassis, aggressive aero, and low ground-hugging bodywork all serve performance before convenience. The three-mode system gives the driver a way to select less aggressive settings for ordinary driving, but the car’s central-radiator packaging, wing surfaces, braking hardware, and suspension adjustability exist primarily to improve circuit performance.
That makes the GT3 RS a poor choice for someone seeking the quietest, softest, or most useful everyday 911. It is a compelling choice for a buyer who specifically wants a naturally aspirated, high-revving engine and a road-legal car with unusually serious aerodynamic and chassis technology.

GT3 RS collectibles and related products
A direct way to own the 992 GT3 RS design without buying the car is the Porsche 911 GT3 RS (992) model kit. Tamiya’s official U.S. listing identifies item 24370 as a 1:24 assembly kit recreating the 992-generation GT3 RS and lists a $49 MSRP. It is a scale model and building project—not a Porsche accessory, replacement part, or driving product—so check current availability before ordering.
For collectors, Porsche’s shop has listed a 1:18 Porsche 911 GT3 RS model with the Manthey Kit. It is described as a resin stand model limited to 500 units and priced at $475 before tax. Stock and price are time-sensitive, and this Porsche Shop item should not be assumed to be an Amazon listing.
The Porsche Design GT3 RS chronograph is a more exclusive ownership-linked item. The official shop states that the Porsche Design GT3 RS chronograph is exclusive to owners or buyers of the corresponding 911 GT3 RS. That makes it relevant to existing GT3 RS customers and Porsche Design collectors, but not a general recommendation for every reader shopping for a watch.
Bottom line
The 2025 Porsche 911 GT3 RS starts at $241,300 in the U.S., but the realistic cost of a specified or scarce example can be much higher. Its 518-hp naturally aspirated flat-six and 3.0-second Porsche claim are only part of the story: the central radiator, active aero, DRS, airbrake function, aero suspension links, rear steering, adjustable track setup, and available Manthey hardware define the car more than its straight-line numbers. It is one of the clearest modern examples of a road-legal 911 engineered first for the racetrack and adapted for the street.
