The 2025 Porsche 911 GT3 and GT3 with Touring Package share the same naturally aspirated 4.0-liter boxer engine and transmission choices, but make different visual statements. The standard GT3 wears a fixed rear wing and is Porsche’s track-focused version; the Touring removes that wing for a more understated 911 profile, while retaining an active rear spoiler and the GT3’s performance-oriented character.
What separates the GT3 from the GT3 Touring?
Porsche introduced the 2025 GT3 and GT3 with Touring Package together. The Touring is an alternative configuration of the GT3, not a separate model with a different engine. The clearest distinction is at the back: the standard car has a fixed rear wing, while the Touring dispenses with it.
| Feature | 911 GT3 | 911 GT3 with Touring Package |
|---|---|---|
| Rear treatment | Fixed rear wing | No fixed wing; active rear spoiler with a Gurney flap |
| Emphasis in Porsche’s description | Track-focused | More understated appearance |
| Transmission choices in Porsche’s announcement | Seven-speed PDK or six-speed GT Sport manual | Seven-speed PDK or six-speed GT Sport manual |
| Optional rear seats | Not stated in the announcement | Available for the first time on a Touring in this generation |
The Touring’s subtler silhouette does not mean Porsche describes it as a comfort-focused or mechanically distinct car. Porsche says it uses refined underbody air guides to maintain aerodynamic balance alongside its active rear spoiler. The fixed wing is the visible difference; the shared engine and gearbox menu are central parts of the connection between the two.
Does the GT3 Touring have a rear wing?
It does not have the GT3’s fixed rear wing. Instead, Porsche specifies an active rear spoiler with a Gurney flap. That gives the Touring a cleaner, more traditional 911 outline without meaning that the rear of the car is aerodynamically inactive.

Porsche traces the Touring Package name to an equipment variant of the 1973 911 Carrera RS 2.7 and says the package has been part of the GT3 program since 2017. In this generation, the name signals a less conspicuous exterior treatment rather than a different engine family.
What engine and performance figures did Porsche announce?

Porsche’s release gives the GT3—not an independent test or Touring-specific measurement—acceleration to 60 mph of 3.2 seconds with PDK and 3.7 seconds with the manual. It lists top track speeds of 193 mph for the PDK GT3 and 195 mph for the manual GT3. These are manufacturer-published figures from the launch announcement.
Discussing track behavior, Porsche Brand Ambassador Jörg Bergmeister said: “On the track, the new 911 GT3 enables even better control because it holds even steadier and handles better on bumps and when driving over curbs thanks to the optimized damper tuning.” That is Porsche’s attributed description of the GT3, not an independent road-test finding or a Touring-specific assessment.

Can you get a manual GT3 Touring?
Yes. Porsche’s October 2024 U.S. announcement offered the Touring with the same two transmissions as the GT3: a seven-speed PDK or a six-speed GT Sport manual. Choosing the Touring’s wingless appearance does not, according to that announcement, remove the manual option.

Yes. Porsche announced optional rear seats for the Touring for the first time with this generation. The announcement does not establish that the rear seats are standard, nor does it provide enough detail to characterize them as a substitute for a conventional family car.
