The U.S.-market 2025 Nissan Murano is a five-seat midsize SUV with a 241-hp turbocharged four-cylinder, a nine-speed automatic and EPA-estimated fuel economy of 23 mpg combined in both listed front- and all-wheel-drive configurations. Nissan’s launch MSRPs ranged from $40,470 to $49,600. Its published specifications and IIHS safety results offer a useful overview, but the figures do not establish how it performs in independent road testing.
2025 Nissan Murano price and trims
Nissan announced these U.S. launch MSRPs on December 19, 2024. They are original manufacturer prices, not current asking prices or transaction prices, and do not include later dealer discounts or fees. Nissan’s price announcement lists four configurations:

The SV is the only listed trim with front-wheel drive; all-wheel drive is listed for the SV and standard on the SL and Platinum configurations shown. Check current dealer listings for today’s inventory pricing, since launch MSRP does not indicate what a vehicle now costs to buy.
Engine, transmission and fuel economy
All listed trims use Nissan’s 2.0-liter VC-Turbo DOHC 16-valve four-cylinder engine, rated at 241 hp at 5,600 rpm and 260 lb-ft of torque at 4,000 rpm. A nine-speed automatic transmission with paddle shifters is specified. These are manufacturer specifications, not independent performance-test results. Nissan’s 2025 Murano brochure provides the powertrain and economy figures.

The fuel-economy numbers are EPA estimates given in Nissan’s brochure for the 2025 model year, not real-world measurements. Actual consumption can vary with driving conditions and use.
Size, cargo space and towing
Nissan specifies seating for five, with 32.9 cubic feet of cargo volume behind the second row and 63.5 cubic feet with the rear seat folded. Maximum towing capacity is listed at 1,500 pounds, and the fuel tank capacity is 18.7 gallons. These are brochure specifications; consult the vehicle manual and verify the individual vehicle’s equipment before towing. Nissan’s brochure is the source for these capacities.

Features and technology
Nissan highlights available equipment such as a panoramic moonroof, heated and ventilated front seats, massaging front seats, heated rear seats, 64-color ambient lighting, Google built-in and a Bose 10-speaker audio system. Availability depends on trim, package and options; the headline feature list does not mean every item is fitted to every Murano. The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) lists the 2025 Murano as a Top Safety Pick+. Its rating page reports Good results in the small-overlap front, updated moderate-overlap front and updated side tests; Acceptable headlights; Acceptable standard vehicle-to-vehicle front crash prevention; and Good standard pedestrian front crash prevention. IIHS identifies its tested vehicle as a 2025 Murano SL 4-door 4WD, notes the 2025 redesign, and says the rating applies to 2025–27 models. What the specifications say about performance—and what they do not
The published specifications establish the engine’s rated output, transmission type and EPA fuel-economy estimates. They do not establish acceleration times, braking distances, handling behavior or ride comfort. No independent instrumented results or direct comparisons with named rivals are available here, so those aspects of performance cannot be judged from these figures alone.
For a prospective buyer, the confirmed specification picture is a 241-hp engine paired with a nine-speed automatic, identical quoted EPA estimates for the listed FWD and AWD configurations, and up to 63.5 cubic feet of cargo volume with the rear seat folded. Whether those numbers meet a particular need depends on the vehicle’s actual equipment and the buyer’s priorities; the figures alone are not a substitute for evaluating a specific vehicle.
