The 2025 MINI Countryman SE ALL4 is worth considering if you want a distinctive, quick all-wheel-drive electric SUV and can live with its 212-mile EPA range. It is a weaker fit for frequent long trips, uncertain charging access, or buyers who put range per dollar first. The U.S. launch base price was $45,200 before destination and handling; get a current local quote rather than treating that launch figure as today’s transaction price.
What the 2025 U.S. Countryman SE ALL4 offers
This is the all-electric, dual-motor AWD version of the Countryman for the U.S. 2025 model year. MINI’s U.S. launch announcement lists 308 hp, 364 lb-ft of torque and a 0–60 mph time of 5.4 seconds. Those are manufacturer figures, not independent test measurements. MINI USA’s August 26, 2024 announcement describes the car’s all-wheel-drive system and range.
Range and charging: the main trade-off
MINI’s U.S. technical specification gives the Countryman SE ALL4 an EPA range of 212 miles, 96 combined MPGe and energy consumption of 35 kWh per 100 miles. EPA range is a published estimate, not a promise of how far every driver will travel between charges; the cited specification does not quantify how particular conditions affect real-world range.
| Charging measure | MINI’s U.S. specification |
|---|---|
| AC Level 2 charging power | 9.6 kW |
| Estimated Level 2 charge time | 8 hours 15 minutes from 0% to 100% |
| Maximum DC fast-charging power | Up to 130 kW |
| Estimated DC fast-charge time | 29 minutes from 10% to 80% |
These are MINI’s stated figures in its 2025 U.S. technical specification; charging times are estimates, not guarantees. For regular home charging, a Level 2 charger may be useful, but check your home’s electrical suitability, installation requirements and vehicle compatibility before buying or arranging installation.

What one road test found
In a one-week test published March 23, 2025, Tom’s Guide reviewer John Velasco drove 298.3 miles and averaged 3.2 miles per kWh. The reviewer praised the acceleration and steering, while identifying the 212-mile range as the main drawback for longer commutes or trips. That is one reviewer’s result under that test’s conditions, not a fleet average or a forecast for every owner. Read the Tom’s Guide road test.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone. How to decide whether it fits your driving
Consider it if
- Your usual driving fits comfortably within the 212-mile EPA estimate, with room for your own route and charging plans.
- You have dependable home or public charging access.
- You value the combination of AWD, brisk acceleration and MINI’s distinctive character more than having a longer published range.
Shop further or pass if
- You regularly make long trips and do not want to plan around charging stops.
- Your charging access is uncertain or inconvenient.
- You are prioritizing range per dollar. The available figures establish this MINI’s specifications, but do not provide a current, like-for-like competitor ranking.
Before committing, map your typical daily and occasional longer routes against charging options, then test-drive the car and get a current dealer quote. MINI’s 2025 model-year announcement lists a U.S. launch base MSRP of $45,200 before destination and handling. It is a launch-era reference, not a verified current transaction price; ask a local dealer about current pricing and incentives.
