The lineup includes seven trims, one six-speed manual configuration, and standard AWD on the Carbon Edition and both turbo trims. These are Mazda’s announced starting prices, not dealer transaction quotes.
2025 Mazda3 Hatchback starting prices
Mazda North American Operations announced the following U.S. model-year prices on June 6, 2024. The March 1, 2025 pricing release again listed the hatchback starting at $25,150 after a $200 adjustment to selected 2025 model prices; Mazda said vehicles already labeled at dealers or ports were not affected by that adjustment. Mazda’s model page says its starting MSRP excludes options, tax, title, license fees, and destination, and that actual dealer price varies. An individual car’s equipment and final price can differ with options, dealer pricing, incentives, fees, and inventory, so check its window sticker and get a written quote. Engine, transmission and drivetrain specs
2.5 S models
The naturally aspirated 2.5-liter Skyactiv-G engine is rated at 191 horsepower and 186 lb-ft of torque. The standard 2.5 S, Select Sport, and Preferred are front-wheel drive; the Carbon Edition is all-wheel drive. Mazda lists automatic transmission for these trims. 2.5 S Premium manual
The hatchback-only 2.5 S Premium is the manual choice, with a six-speed SKYACTIV-MT and front-wheel drive. Mazda lists a six-speed automatic with manual-shift and Sport modes for the other hatchback models. Mazda’s model page.
Turbo models
The 2.5 Carbon Turbo and Turbo Premium Plus use a turbocharged 2.5-liter engine, standard i-Activ AWD, and a six-speed automatic. Mazda rates output at 250 hp and 320 lb-ft on premium 93-octane fuel, or 227 hp and 310 lb-ft on regular 87-octane fuel. The higher figures depend on using premium fuel; they are not the rating on regular. Mazda’s 2025 pricing and packaging announcement.

What each trim adds
2.5 S
The entry trim includes an 8.8-inch center display, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and a suite of i-Activsense driver-assistance features, according to Mazda.
2.5 S Select Sport
Select Sport adds black-finish 18-inch alloy wheels, leatherette-trimmed seats, and dual-zone automatic climate control.

2.5 S Preferred
Preferred adds a power moonroof, an eight-way power driver’s seat with memory, and heated front seats.
2.5 S Carbon Edition
The Carbon Edition pairs AWD with Polymetal Gray paint, red leather, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and Qi wireless phone charging.

2.5 S Premium
Available only as a hatchback in this lineup, Premium is the trim to consider for the six-speed manual. It also adds Bose 12-speaker audio and leather seats.
2.5 Carbon Turbo
Carbon Turbo combines the turbo engine and AWD with Zircon Sand Metallic exterior paint and a terracotta leatherette interior.

2.5 Turbo Premium Plus
The top trim adds a 360-degree View Monitor, front and rear parking sensors, and additional driver-assistance and styling equipment.

Mazda’s 2025 hatchback page gives EPA-estimated economy ranges of 23–27 mpg city and 31–36 mpg highway. The applicable estimate varies with trim, transmission, and FWD/AWD configuration, so those ranges are not a single rating for every car. Mazda lists curb weight from 3,146 to 3,397 lb across the hatchback lineup. Mazda’s model page.
Mazda also reports a 2025 IIHS TOP SAFETY PICK+ award and a five-star overall NHTSA rating for the 2025 Mazda3 Hatchback. These are manufacturer-reported claims; consult IIHS and NHTSA for their testing methods, detailed results, and applicability to specific configurations.
Photos and choosing a configuration
Mazda’s 2025 Mazda3 Hatchback page is the source for the manufacturer’s model information and photos. Trim appearance varies: for example, the Carbon Edition is shown with Polymetal Gray paint and red leather, while Carbon Turbo features Zircon Sand Metallic paint and terracotta leatherette. Confirm colors and interior materials against the actual car and its window sticker.
