What’s new on the 2025 Honda Transalp?
American Honda announced the update on May 20, 2025, describing changes to aerodynamics, lighting, instrumentation, and suspension. The release says the bike has a central duct, a revised screen and mid-cowl for airflow management, a dual-projector headlight, a 5-inch TFT display with Honda RoadSync smartphone connectivity, and updated front and rear suspension settings. U.S. engine and transmission

Suspension travel and wheel sizes
The U.S. specification lists a 43mm Showa inverted front fork with 7.9 inches of travel and Pro-Link rear suspension with 7.5 inches. The wheel-and-tire format is 90/90-21 at the front and 150/70R-18 at the rear. Seat height and fit
Honda lists a standard seat height of 33.7 inches for the U.S. model and an optional accessory seat at 32.6 inches. The lower seat may be worth checking for riders concerned about reaching the ground, but seat height alone does not determine fit; inseam, seat width, suspension sag, and footwear also affect reach. Weight and fuel capacity
Honda lists a U.S. curb weight of 463 pounds. Its definition includes standard equipment, required fluids, and a full tank, so compare that figure only with weights reported on a similar basis. The listed fuel capacity is 4.4 gallons, including a stated 0.9-gallon reserve. Capacity is not a range estimate: actual distance per tank depends on riding conditions and consumption. Honda’s market announcements are not interchangeable. Japan’s May 2025 announcement covers its domestic model and mentions a new color alongside changes to the headlight design, windscreen shape, and suspension settings. What to compare before buying
When comparing the Transalp with another motorcycle or model year, keep the market and specification basis consistent. Check the listed price and destination charges, how curb weight is defined, seat height and seat options, suspension travel, fuel capacity, tire sizes, display and phone connectivity, and which equipment is standard versus optional.
