Honda introduced the 2025 Civic Hybrid as a five-door hatchback in the U.S. for the first time, with Sport Hybrid and Sport Touring Hybrid trims. Both use front-wheel drive, make 200 total system horsepower and carry EPA estimates of 50 mpg city, 45 highway and 48 combined. Honda’s January 2025 pricing was $30,150 for Sport Hybrid and $33,150 for Sport Touring Hybrid, before destination and other charges.
What changed for the 2025 Civic Hybrid?
Honda’s 2025 model-year Civic Hybrid was offered in hatchback form in the U.S., a first for the Civic Hatchback in that market. The hatchback began arriving at U.S. dealers on September 12, 2024, so this is a 2025 model introduced in 2024—not a newly launched 2026 model. The two hybrid grades are Sport Hybrid and Sport Touring Hybrid, positioned above the conventional Sport hatchback. Honda’s launch announcement describes the launch and its timing.
The specifications and feature details below are Honda’s statements for U.S. vehicles. Equipment, naming and availability may differ in other markets; confirm the exact equipment on the car you are considering.
Power, torque and fuel economy
Both hybrid trims use Honda’s two-motor hybrid system and front-wheel drive. Honda lists 200 horsepower as total system output, and 232 lb-ft as the electric motor’s torque. The 232 lb-ft figure is not a total-system torque rating. Honda specifies regular unleaded fuel and lists Econ, Normal and Sport drive modes plus deceleration selectors on both hybrid trims; Sport Touring Hybrid also adds Individual mode. Honda’s EPA estimates for each hybrid hatchback trim are 50 mpg city, 45 mpg highway and 48 mpg combined. For comparison, Honda lists the non-hybrid Sport hatchback at 30/38/34 mpg city/highway/combined. The clearest EPA-rated difference is in city driving. These are standardized estimates for comparison, not guaranteed real-world mileage; driving, maintenance, conditions and other factors affect fuel economy. Honda’s January 2025 pricing and EPA release confirms the hybrid figures.

Honda’s January 3, 2025 pricing table listed the following U.S. MSRPs. These are historical manufacturer prices, not current dealer quotes or out-the-door prices.

Honda’s stated totals exclude tax, license, registration, options and premium colors; dealer prices may vary. The destination-inclusive figures above add Honda’s listed $1,150 charge to each MSRP, but do not include those other costs. Honda’s September 12, 2024 launch table had earlier listed $29,950 and $32,950 MSRPs with a $1,095 destination charge; the January 2025 table is the later published pricing. What does Sport Touring Hybrid add?
The trims share the hybrid powertrain and EPA ratings, so the main choice is whether the Touring grade’s added cabin, connectivity and parking equipment is worth its higher original MSRP. Honda lists the Sport Hybrid with a 7-inch touchscreen and standard Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility. Sport Touring Hybrid adds a larger screen and more convenience features:
