Its hillclimb delivered the weekend’s headline result on Sunday: Romain Dumas won the Timed Shoot-Out in the all-electric Ford F-150 Lightning SuperTruck in 43.22 seconds. That was a Shoot-Out victory, not a new outright hill record; Max Chilton’s 39.08-second run in the McMurtry Spéirling in 2022 remains the record listed by Goodwood.
The Festival’s theme, “The Winning Formula – Champions & Challengers,” marked 75 years of the Formula 1 World Championship. Below is a retrospective of the main hillclimb story and the wider displays, separating confirmed results from appearances and timetable slots.
How the 2025 Festival was organized
Goodwood’s four-day event brought more than 600 cars and motorcycles to the estate, with a particular focus on Formula 1. The official wrap-up described it as Goodwood’s largest F1 celebration to date: more than 100 F1 cars represented different eras of the championship, nine current teams were represented, and the F1 Pit Lane was expanded. The Festival’s Hillclimb page calls the course “the very heart of the Festival of Speed.”
Seven World Champions—Alain Prost, Emerson Fittipaldi, Sir Jackie Stewart, Jacques Villeneuve, Mario Andretti, Mika Häkkinen and Nigel Mansell—were part of the celebration. They shared a balcony moment on Saturday, with fourteen championships between them.

Who won the 2025 Goodwood Festival of Speed hillclimb?
Romain Dumas won the Timed Shoot-Out
Romain Dumas took the Sunday Timed Shoot-Out in the Ford F-150 Lightning SuperTruck with a time of 43.22 seconds. It was the leading competitive result of the hillclimb weekend and came in an all-electric vehicle.
The Shoot-Out win was not the outright hill record
Goodwood lists the outright Hillclimb record as 39.08 seconds, set by Max Chilton in the McMurtry Spéirling in 2022. The 2025 Shoot-Out result was 4.14 seconds slower, so Dumas won the 2025 contest without breaking the record. A Shoot-Out win and the outright record are separate achievements.

How did Formula 1 shape the weekend?
The anniversary theme connected competition cars and champions from across F1 history, rather than focusing on one era. The seven champions represented fourteen titles, while the broader car display exceeded 100 machines. The expanded F1 Pit Lane and participation from nine current teams added a present-day dimension to the historical celebration.
Honda’s event page said Nigel Mansell was to drive the Williams Honda FW11, which Honda identifies as the car that brought the marque its first F1 Constructors’ Championship in 1986. Honda presented the showrun as part of its 60th-anniversary celebration of its first F1 victory. The company also listed the Super EV Concept, a Prelude prototype, the Civic Type R Ultimate Edition and the CRF450 RALLY among its event vehicles.
