2025 Mustang GT pricing: what buyers should expect
There are three different prices to keep separate:
| Price category | What it means |
|---|---|
| Published starting MSRP | Ford’s advertised starting price before destination and delivery, taxes, title, registration, dealer charges and other government fees. Ford also says prices and specifications can change. |
| Observed remaining inventory | Actual dealer listings for specific cars with specific options. These are not a universal national price. |
| Final transaction price | The amount you ultimately pay after the vehicle price, destination, documentation fees, taxes, registration, incentives and financing terms are settled. |
In the Ford inventory searches covered by this guide, 2025 Mustang GT Fastback examples were observed at approximately $46,055 to $48,750 in one regional search. GT Premium Fastback examples appeared at approximately $58,580 to $61,530 in another. Those figures are dealer- and configuration-specific observations, not a nationwide price range or guaranteed current availability.

Ford’s current 2025 Build & Price interface indicates that the model is not available for online ordering through that page. That does not necessarily mean every 2025 GT has disappeared: remaining cars may still be available through local Ford dealers, but inventory is time-sensitive and varies by market.

How to verify a 2025 GT price
- Get the vehicle identification number or the complete window sticker.
- Confirm whether the car is a GT Fastback, GT Premium Fastback or GT Premium Convertible.
- Identify the transmission, Performance Package, active-valve performance exhaust, wheels, brake equipment and driver-assistance options.
- Ask for the dealer selling price separately from destination, documentation fees, taxes and registration.
- Request the available incentives and financing terms in writing. A low monthly payment is not the same as a low purchase price.
- Compare the final out-the-door amount with similarly equipped cars rather than comparing badges alone.
Engine and performance specifications
Every 2025 Mustang GT uses Ford’s 5.0-liter Ti-VCT V8. On 93-octane fuel, Ford lists:
- 480 horsepower at 7,150 rpm
- 415 lb.-ft. of torque at 4,900 rpm
With the available active-valve performance exhaust, Ford lists output at 486 horsepower at 7,250 rpm and 418 lb.-ft. of torque at 4,900 rpm. The fuel and exhaust qualifications matter: the higher figures should not be presented as the output of every GT in every configuration.
The GT is a rear-wheel-drive coupe or convertible, depending on configuration. Ford does not make the active exhaust or track-oriented equipment standard on every car, so the vehicle’s window sticker is the safest way to confirm what a particular example has.
Manual vs. automatic: which Mustang GT is right?
| Transmission | What Ford’s specifications show | Best suited to |
|---|---|---|
| Six-speed manual | Standard transmission, rev matching and a 3.55 limited-slip rear axle. | Drivers who want the most involved, traditional Mustang experience. |
| 10-speed SelectShift automatic | Available paddle shifters, remote start and a 3.15 limited-slip rear axle in Ford’s order-guide configuration. | Drivers who deal with traffic, want easier daily use or prefer automatic shifting. |
The manual is not merely a lower-cost alternative. Its rev-matching function helps smooth downshifts, while the 3.55 limited-slip axle gives it a different gearing and response character from the automatic’s 3.15 axle. The automatic is likely the more convenient choice for commuting and stop-and-go traffic, but buyers should compare similarly equipped cars because transmission choice can affect both price and the rest of the vehicle’s configuration.
Standard GT equipment
The standard GT Fastback includes substantially more than the V8 engine. Ford’s order information lists the following GT-specific or performance-related equipment:
- Larger brake rotors with four-piston fixed calipers
- 18-by-8.5-inch ebony-black aluminum wheels
- 255/45VR18 tires
- GT-specific front fascia and grille
- Dual 3.5-inch exhaust outlets
- Hood vent
- Body-color wedge decklid spoiler
- 12.4-inch LCD digital instrument cluster
- Flat-bottom leather-wrapped steering wheel
- Dual-zone automatic temperature control, which became standard on GT models for 2025
Do not assume that every car showing a GT badge has the same wheels, brakes, exhaust or assistance technology. Series, package and standalone-option content can change the equipment substantially.
Performance Package, exhaust and drift brake
The available Performance Package is one of the most consequential choices for a buyer who intends to drive the Mustang aggressively. It can alter the car’s brake, wheel, tire and chassis-related equipment, so the package should be confirmed on the VIN-specific window sticker rather than inferred from photographs.

For 2025, Ford made Notorious Blue-painted brake calipers with a Grabber Blue Brembo logo available on GT models equipped with the Performance Package. Brake color alone does not prove that the complete package is fitted; check the build information.
The available active-valve performance exhaust changes the car’s sound and is associated with Ford’s higher published power figures. The available drift brake is a performance feature intended for closed-track use. It should not be treated as a public-road driving feature, and its presence does not make public-road sliding safe or legal.
2025 Mustang GT dimensions and weight
Ford’s technical specifications list the GT Fastback at:
| Specification | 2025 Mustang GT Fastback |
|---|---|
| Overall length | 189.4 inches |
| Width including mirrors | 81.9 inches |
| Width without mirrors | 75.4 inches |
| Height | 55 inches |
| Wheelbase | 107 inches |
| Estimated curb weight, manual Fastback | 3,827 pounds |
| Estimated curb weight, automatic Fastback | 3,832 pounds |
These figures describe the Fastback configuration. The GT Premium Convertible is a separate body style and should not be treated as dimensionally or functionally identical to the coupe. Convertible weight, cargo practicality and accessory fitment can differ.
Fastback, GT Premium and convertible differences
The word “GT” covers several configurations. A base GT Fastback is the straightforward V8 entry point. The GT Premium Fastback adds a higher equipment level and was observed at substantially higher dealer prices in the cited inventory searches. The GT Premium Convertible trades some coupe practicality and structural simplicity for open-air driving.
For a used or remaining-inventory car, compare the actual equipment rather than assuming that “Premium” or “Convertible” explains the full price difference. Verify the upholstery, audio system, driver-assistance features, wheels, performance equipment and standalone options on the window sticker.
What changed for the 2025 model year?
Ford described the 2025 Mustang updates as targeted revisions rather than a wholesale redesign. The GT-relevant changes include:

- 1:25 scale, skill level 2, paint & glue required 169 parts Molded in white, clear and transparent red, with chrome-plated parts. Black vinyl tires Metal axle Built size: 7.125 inches long Ages 10+
- Dual-zone automatic temperature control became standard on EcoBoost and GT models.
- The complimentary connected-navigation trial changed from three years to one year.
- Notorious Blue brake calipers with a Grabber Blue Brembo logo became available on GT models with the Performance Package.
- A 60th Anniversary Package became available on the GT Premium.
- The B&O Sound System by Bang & Olufsen became a standalone option on EcoBoost Premium and GT Premium models.
- Active-valve performance exhaust became optional on the EcoBoost 100A configuration, a change that primarily concerns EcoBoost buyers rather than the GT’s core specification.
For a GT shopper, the changes most likely to affect the buying decision are the now-standard climate control, the Performance Package brake-color availability and the GT Premium 60th Anniversary Package.

Ford’s official GT Fastback vehicle page is the safest primary reference for exterior photographs, feature images and captions. Ford notes that images may vary from the production vehicle or from the exact options selected in a build tool, so treat promotional images as representative unless the caption identifies the precise configuration.
A useful photo set should include:
- Front three-quarter view: shows the GT grille, front fascia, hood vent and stance.
- Rear three-quarter view: shows the decklid spoiler and dual exhaust outlets.
- Cabin view: shows the 12.4-inch digital cluster and flat-bottom steering wheel.
- Wheel and brake detail: label the image clearly if it shows Performance Package hardware or the available blue calipers.
- Premium or convertible view: identify the body style in the caption rather than presenting it as a generic Fastback.
A Dark Horse or Mustang GTD image should not be used as a generic GT photo. Those variants have different bodywork and hardware, and their appearance can give shoppers an inaccurate impression of a standard GT.
Ownership and buying advice
Choose the body style before shopping for accessories
Fastback and convertible covers, cargo accessories and some replacement parts are not interchangeable. If you are shopping for a 2025 Ford Mustang GT car cover, first confirm whether the car is a Fastback or GT Premium Convertible. Then verify the listed dimensions, material, weather rating, seller quality and return policy. Exact current Amazon availability and fitment should be checked before ordering.
Use the VIN for parts and replacement equipment
Ford recommends searching by VIN for the most accurate parts result. This is especially important for brakes, wheels, suspension components, drivetrain parts and body-style-specific accessories. A generic “2025 Mustang GT” search may return parts for different series, packages or body styles.
Budget beyond the advertised price
The GT’s purchase price is only one part of ownership. A buyer should also account for fuel, insurance, tires, brake wear and the possibility that performance-oriented tires or brake components cost more to replace. These costs vary with location, driving style and selected equipment, so they should be quoted for the specific vehicle rather than estimated from the GT badge alone.
Inspect a remaining-inventory car carefully
When a model is no longer available for online ordering, the remaining cars may be scattered across dealer lots. Before traveling or placing a deposit, ask the dealer to confirm the VIN, mileage, production date, window-sticker equipment, current location, paint and interior condition, and whether the advertised price depends on financing or other conditions.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone.Which 2025 Mustang GT should you buy?
- Choose the base GT Fastback manual if the V8, rear-wheel drive and hands-on driving experience matter more than premium cabin equipment.
- Choose the automatic if daily traffic, remote start and paddle-shift convenience outweigh the appeal of a clutch pedal.
- Choose the Performance Package if you specifically want the additional performance hardware, but verify every component on the sticker.
- Choose the active exhaust if exhaust character and Ford’s higher published output are important enough to justify the option.
- Choose GT Premium if its extra equipment, available anniversary package or standalone audio options are worth the observed price premium.
- Choose the convertible for open-air driving, while accepting that it is a separate configuration for weight, practicality and accessory purposes.

Bottom line: The 2025 Ford Mustang GT remains the direct route into Ford’s V8 Mustang lineup: a 5.0-liter naturally aspirated V8, rear-wheel drive, a standard rev-matching manual and an available automatic. With online ordering unavailable through Ford’s current 2025 page, buyers should treat dealer listings as remaining-inventory observations, not nationwide MSRP. The biggest decision points are Fastback versus convertible, manual versus automatic, and whether the Performance Package and active exhaust justify the added cost.
