Chevrolet also reported a 233 mph two-way average for a standard-aero ZR1 coupe at a closed-course test facility in Germany. Those claims describe different configurations: the available ZTK package posted the quicker published acceleration figures, while the standard-aero car made the top-speed run.
How much does a 2025 Corvette ZR1 cost?
Chevrolet’s January 9, 2025 U.S. announcement listed the following starting MSRPs. Each price included the announced $1,695 destination freight charge, but excluded tax, title, license, dealer fees and optional equipment. Dealers set final prices, so MSRP is not a transaction quote or an all-in cost. Chevrolet’s pricing announcement provides the original terms.
| Trim and body style | Announced U.S. starting MSRP |
|---|---|
| 1LZ coupe | $174,995 |
| 1LZ hardtop convertible | $184,995 |
| 3LZ coupe | $185,995 |
| 3LZ hardtop convertible | $195,995 |
For the announcement, Chevrolet listed the Carbon Fiber Aero Package at $8,495 and the ZTK Performance Package at $1,500; ZTK required the Carbon Fiber Aero Package. These are the option prices stated in that announcement, not a guarantee of current availability or dealer pricing. Chevrolet described 3LZ equipment such as heated and ventilated Napa leather seats, a 14-speaker Bose Performance Series audio system, and additional interior trim and convenience features.
What makes the ZR1 so powerful?
The 2025 ZR1 uses Chevrolet’s 5.5-liter LT7 twin-turbocharged DOHC V8 with a flat-plane crankshaft. Chevrolet rates it at 1,064 hp at 7,000 rpm and 828 lb-ft of torque at 6,000 rpm under SAE guidelines. Those are manufacturer specifications, not independent dynamometer results. Chevrolet also says the Carbon Fiber Aero Package produces more than 1,200 pounds of downforce at top speed. Chevrolet’s 2025 Corvette specifications lists the engine and tire details.

How fast is the 2025 Corvette ZR1?
Chevrolet’s reported top speed
Chevrolet says a standard-chassis ZR1 coupe achieved a 233 mph two-way average on the High-Speed Oval Track at ATP Automotive Testing Papenburg in Germany. GM President Mark Reuss drove the car on the northbound and southbound straightaways. Chevrolet described the result as a closed-course record; it is not a public-road speed claim. The record-setting car used the standard aero package, a standard spoiler with a short wicker, carbon-fiber ground effects, Michelin Pilot Sport 4S tires and aluminum wheels. Chevrolet also said development cars and five engineers exceeded 230 mph across multiple runs. Chevrolet’s Papenburg announcement describes the run and car configuration.
Published acceleration figures
Chevrolet reported the following closed-course results using 93-octane pump fuel on a non-prepped drag strip. The figures are manufacturer-reported test results, not a guarantee for every car or condition. Chevrolet’s acceleration announcement gives the test context.

| Configuration | 0–60 mph | Quarter-mile | Quarter-mile trap speed |
|---|---|---|---|
| ZTK-equipped ZR1 | 2.3 seconds | 9.6 seconds | Not stated in the cited acceleration release |
| Standard ZR1 | 2.5 seconds | 9.7 seconds | 152 mph |
Chevrolet said the standard car’s quarter-mile trap speed was 2 mph higher than the ZTK car’s. Its release does not state the ZTK car’s trap speed.
What is the difference between standard ZR1 and ZR1 with ZTK?
The standard-aero setup is the configuration Chevrolet used for its 233 mph top-speed run. ZTK is the track-focused, high-downforce choice: it adds the Carbon Fiber Aero Package along with track-oriented suspension and tire equipment. Chevrolet’s published acceleration figures favor the ZTK car, but the top-speed result belongs to the standard-chassis, standard-aero coupe. Do not combine the ZTK acceleration numbers with the standard car’s 233 mph claim as though one configuration produced both results.

Is the 2025 ZR1 the fastest and most expensive Corvette ever?
“Fastest” depends on the metric. Chevrolet’s 2024 announcements support a specific top-speed claim—233 mph average for the standard-aero coupe at Papenburg—and describe the ZTK car’s published acceleration figures as the quickest Corvette acceleration results. These are Chevrolet claims tied to particular tests and configurations; they do not establish that the ZR1 is fastest by every possible measure or independently rank it against every competing car.
The price claim also needs a model-year boundary. Chevrolet’s January 2025 announcement placed the 2025 ZR1 above the other prices in that model-year Corvette lineup, with the 3LZ hardtop convertible starting at $195,995. Chevrolet later announced a 2026 Corvette ZR1X with a higher starting MSRP, so the 2025 ZR1 should not be described as the most expensive Corvette in every later model year.

What to know before buying replacement tires
Chevrolet lists front and rear tire sizes of 275/30ZR20 and 345/25ZR21 in its detailed specifications. Michelin Pilot Sport 4S tires were fitted to the standard-aero car used for the Papenburg record run. Before buying, confirm the exact vehicle fitment, tire ratings, approved wheel combination and current listing; the record-car specification alone does not establish that every ZR1 configuration uses the same tire.
