The 2025 Chevrolet Tahoe and Suburban get a substantial cabin and exterior refresh, plus an upgraded available diesel. Most trims also carried higher launch-era starting MSRPs than their 2024 counterparts, although the LT was reported unchanged. The price story needs a date attached: Chevrolet’s live U.S. model pages displayed different starting prices on October 7, 2026, than the initial prices reported in August 2024.
What changed for 2025?
Chevrolet’s November 2023 announcement, updated in August 2024, describes a refresh across all six trims: LS, LT, RST, Z71, Premier and High Country. It brings revised exterior styling, a much larger standard center display and changes to the available diesel and suspension equipment. These are announced specifications and features, not independent test results. Chevrolet’s announcement
Updated exterior and cabin
Each trim receives a new front fascia with trim-specific design cues. Cypress Gray and Lakeshore Blue Metallic join the exterior color choices. Inside, a standard 17.7-inch-diagonal infotainment screen sits beside an 11-inch driver information center. Chevrolet also revised the steering wheel and center console, moved the wireless charging pad, and specified trim-specific materials and finishes.
More output from the available diesel
The available second-generation 3.0L inline-six turbo-diesel is rated at 305 hp at 3,750 rpm and 495 lb-ft of torque at 2,750 rpm. Chevrolet’s announcement compares those figures with 277 hp and 460 lb-ft for the previous diesel. The new engine is paired with a 10-speed automatic; Chevrolet said it would become available later in production.

GM Authority reported that the Tahoe’s LT was unchanged from its 2024 equivalent and that the other listed trims increased. For the Suburban, it reported increases of $1,800 to $3,500 over equivalent 2024 trims, except LT, which was reported unchanged. The range does not mean every Suburban trim rose by the same amount. The reports do not establish what a buyer will pay after incentives, dealer pricing or local inventory are taken into account. Chevrolet’s page values do not line up with the initial prices in the 2024 reports, so they should not be treated as a correction to those reports or as a like-for-like price increase. They represent the manufacturer page’s displayed starting prices on the access date. Chevrolet Tahoe model page; Chevrolet Suburban model page
Does the upgrade justify calling the price hefty?
There is a clear basis for saying most trims launched at higher reported prices than their 2024 equivalents, particularly for the Suburban, where GM Authority reported increases of $1,800 to $3,500 except on LT. But the size of the increase varies by trim, and the later Chevrolet page snapshot is not the same price comparison. The refresh adds visible cabin and exterior changes and more diesel output; whether those upgrades are worth the added cost depends on the trim, powertrain and equipment a buyer wants.

Chevrolet’s published maximum tow ratings favor the shorter Tahoe by 200 pounds, but the available evidence here does not provide a complete, like-for-like comparison of cargo capacity, dimensions or current Suburban trim prices. Compare specific vehicle configurations and current local quotes rather than assuming the two SUVs differ only in length or price.
