The 2025 Chevrolet Blazer EV SS is listed at 615 horsepower and 650 lb-ft of torque when its Wide Open Watts (WOW) mode is engaged. That is the figure Chevrolet published in February 2025 and on its 2025 model page, after an interim 2024 report gave a different rating.
How much horsepower does the 2025 Blazer EV SS have?
Chevrolet lists the 2025 Blazer EV SS at 615 horsepower and 650 lb-ft of torque with WOW. The output is mode-specific; Chevrolet says WOW is exclusive to the SS among 2025 Blazer EV models. See Chevrolet’s 2025 Blazer EV model page for the manufacturer’s specifications.
Chevrolet also gives a GM-estimated 0–60 mph time of 3.4 seconds with WOW. The company specifies that this estimate is based on initial vehicle movement and was measured on a closed course; it is not an independent instrumented test.
Why did the Blazer EV SS power rating change?
The public figures changed over time, but the sources do not explain why. Chevrolet’s 2022 Blazer EV announcement gave an initial target of up to 615 horsepower and 650 lb-ft with WOW. In a September 27, 2024 report, GM Authority described a revised rating of 595 horsepower and 645 lb-ft, saying that was 38 horsepower more and 3 lb-ft less than the then-cited 557-hp/648-lb-ft figures. Chevrolet’s February 10, 2025 release and current 2025 model page list 615 horsepower and 650 lb-ft.

Because Chevrolet does not explain the discrepancy, the later figure should not be attributed to a particular hardware change or technical cause.
What else does Chevrolet list for the 2025 SS?
- Range: 303 miles, EPA-estimated. Chevrolet cautions that actual range varies with factors including temperature, terrain, battery age and condition, loading, use, and maintenance.
- Battery: 102 kWh, according to Chevrolet’s 2025 model page.
- Charging: Chevrolet says the Blazer EV can access Tesla Superchargers with an available GM-approved NACS DC adapter. Check compatibility and availability for the specific vehicle before relying on this option.
- Home energy: Chevrolet describes up to 11.5-kW Level 2 charging and vehicle-to-home functionality when used with the GM Energy PowerShift Charger and GM Energy Vehicle-to-Home Enablement kit.
These specifications apply to the 2025 model year; they should not be assumed to describe every Blazer EV trim or model year. The 615-hp output and 3.4-second estimate also depend on WOW.

What does the Daytona 500 pace-car announcement establish?
Chevrolet said the Blazer EV SS selected to pace the 2025 DAYTONA 500 was a production vehicle with no performance upgrades, fitted with custom graphics and embedded strobe lighting. That establishes the pace car’s stated configuration, not an independent performance test of the model.
Scott Bell, Chevrolet vice president, called it “the quickest SS we’ve ever produced” in the company’s announcement. That is Chevrolet’s characterization; the release’s 3.4-second 0–60 figure remains a GM estimate with the stated closed-course conditions.
