The 2025 Chevrolet Blazer EV SS pairs Chevrolet-estimated 0–60-mph acceleration of 3.4 seconds in Wide Open Watts (WOW) mode with a 303-mile EPA-estimated range. In brief launch-event drives, reviewers found it unusually quick and more composed than lesser Blazer EV versions, but its mass and tire behavior make it a fast road SUV—not a track-focused electric performance car.
What the Blazer EV SS is—and what Chevrolet claims
The SS is the performance-oriented, dual-motor all-wheel-drive version of Chevrolet’s midsize electric SUV. Chevrolet lists a $60,600 starting price on its 2025 model page; that is a manufacturer-listed starting figure, not a local dealer quote or a guarantee of the price a buyer will pay. The same page rates the SS at 303 miles of EPA-estimated range.
In WOW mode, Chevrolet estimates 0–60 mph in 3.4 seconds and lists output at 615 horsepower and 650 lb-ft of torque. These are manufacturer figures, not results from a controlled independent comparison. Edmunds explicitly says its acceleration runs were not officially timed. Chevrolet’s 2025 Blazer EV specifications and GM’s April 22, 2025 announcement provide the performance claims.
How it drives: quick, more composed, but not a track car
Acceleration is the headline
First-drive reviewers consistently describe the SS as very quick. Ars Technica recorded a 3.3-second launch on a slight downhill section, while noting that the gradient may have helped; that single run is not a controlled test and should not be treated as proof that the SS beats Chevrolet’s estimate. Ars Technica’s first drive also describes improved ride and body control over the Blazer EV it had driven previously.

Chassis upgrades help on the road
The SS adds performance hardware aimed at making its speed more manageable. Edmunds reports larger wheels, available summer performance tires, Brembo front brakes and sport-tuned suspension. MotorTrend describes Brembo front calipers, larger rotors, stiffer springs and anti-roll bars, monotube dampers and quicker steering. Both accounts characterize the result as more composed and engaging in fast road driving.
That does not make it a track-special SUV. Edmunds found it stable through turns, but said the vehicle’s mass and tire behavior did not encourage pushing it like a track car. MotorTrend likewise frames it as suited to fast roads rather than as a track monster. These are subjective impressions from brief launch-event drives, not instrumented comparisons or long-term ownership reports. Edmunds’ first-drive review and MotorTrend’s first drive detail the reviewers’ observations.

Range, battery and charging
Chevrolet lists a 102-kWh battery, 303 miles of EPA-estimated range and public DC fast-charging capability of up to 190 kW for the SS. Its 2025 model page gives an AWD estimate of up to 75 miles in 10 minutes of public DC fast charging. That is a manufacturer estimate, not a guaranteed amount: actual charging depends on conditions and equipment, and the figure should not be confused with specifications for a different drivetrain configuration.
The key trade-off is that the SS combines substantial estimated range with high output, rather than maximizing range at the expense of acceleration. The EPA figure is an estimate, not a promise of the distance every driver will cover; actual range varies with conditions and use. For the stated vehicle specifications and charging estimate, see Chevrolet’s 2025 Blazer EV page.

Can the Blazer EV SS use Tesla Superchargers?
Yes, with an available GM-approved NACS adapter from Chevrolet Accessories. The Blazer EV’s vehicle-side charge port remains CCS1, so Supercharger use requires the adapter; do not assume a generic adapter is compatible. Check Chevrolet for current adapter availability and compatibility details before relying on one for a trip. Chevrolet’s model page describes Supercharger access with the approved adapter, and Ars Technica notes the CCS1 port and adapter requirement.

Chevrolet says the Blazer EV has no front trunk and offers up to 59.1 cubic feet of cargo capacity, including concealed storage beneath the rear cargo floor. The advertised maximum is the relevant figure for cargo planning; the page does not establish that every seating or storage configuration provides that full volume. Chevrolet also says the vehicle has more than 15 standard safety and driver-assistance features. A feature count does not establish crash performance or make the vehicle self-driving.

Chevrolet’s safety notice states: “Safety or driver assistance features are no substitute for the driver’s responsibility to operate the vehicle in a safe manner.” It says drivers should remain attentive to traffic, surroundings and road conditions. Compatible GM Energy hardware can support vehicle-to-home charging, according to Ars Technica, but the exact hardware model and its present availability are not established here.
Quick Recap
Who should consider the SS?
- It may suit you if you want a quick electric SUV with all-wheel drive, a manufacturer-estimated 303-mile range and chassis and brake upgrades over more ordinary Blazer EV configurations.
- Think carefully if you want a track-focused vehicle, rely on independently verified acceleration comparisons, or need a firm local purchase price. The launch drives were brief and subjective, while the $60,600 figure is Chevrolet’s listed starting price rather than a transaction quote.
- Before a purchase decision, compare the SS with other Blazer EV trims on drivetrain, range, charging, hardware and equipment, then check local inventory, incentives and current pricing. Those details can vary by location and time.
