Audi describes natural brown apple wood in the new A5’s interior, while a separate Nutmeg Brown seat package was listed for the Korean market in 2025. Neither detail establishes that every A5 has a brown interior or that the package is offered worldwide.
What “Chocolate Side” means for the Audi A5
“Chocolate Side” is not identified as Audi terminology in the available official materials. The phrase can point readers toward the new A5’s warmer cabin details, but it should not be mistaken for the name of a trim, upholstery option or universal interior package. Audi’s description supports a more specific reading: brown apple wood is one of the cabin materials, and Nutmeg Brown seats appear in a Korean-market configuration announcement.
How the new A5 cabin is designed
Audi describes the interior as human-centric, organized around an MMI “Digital Stage” of displays and a horizontal “Softwrap” design running across the dashboard. The Softwrap treatment extends to cloth door panels and armrests, while the seats, colors and materials are intended to form part of the overall cabin design. Audi also identifies natural brown apple wood, sourced mainly from old apple trees in southern Germany, as an interior material. That is evidence of a brown natural-wood accent—not a claim that the entire cabin is chocolate-colored. Audi’s interior and infotainment description provides the design details.
Where Nutmeg Brown seats were offered
Audi Korea’s July 1, 2025 announcement listed a Nutmeg Brown seat package with a black headliner among the configuration options for its market. This establishes that the combination was listed for Korea at that time; it does not establish availability in Germany, the United States or any other market, nor that it remains available now. Check the current local Audi configurator or dealer documentation for the market, body style, seat upholstery and headliner you are considering. Audi Korea’s announcement is the source for that market-specific package.

Which 2025 Audi A5 models this refers to
Audi announced the new A5 family in July 2024, naming the A5 Sedan, S5 Sedan, A5 Avant and S5 Avant. The announcement positioned the new A5 family as the successor naming for the A4 line. At the time, Audi said orders in Germany would open from July 2024 and that the new A5 and S5 would launch in Germany and numerous other European countries in November 2024. Those were announcement-era dates, not a guide to current availability in every country. The exact lineup and timing vary by market. Audi’s launch announcement lists the models and original timing.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone. What to verify before choosing an interior
- Market: Confirm the specification for the country where the car will be ordered or purchased; the Korean Nutmeg Brown listing cannot be assumed to apply elsewhere.
- Body style and model: Check whether the option applies to the A5 or S5 and to the Sedan or Avant offered locally.
- Seat and headliner: Verify the exact upholstery color and whether the black headliner is included in the configuration.
- Displays and equipment: Confirm the display equipment on the local vehicle or order sheet rather than inferring it from a general interior description.
These checks matter because Audi’s published interior overview describes the design language, while the market-specific announcement gives only a particular configuration context; neither is a complete cross-market trim comparison.
