The 2025 Audi A3 gains styling, lighting, interior and equipment updates, while the S3 also gets substantial performance changes in Audi’s European announcement. In the U.S., Car and Driver reported higher starting prices for both: $2,600 more for the A3 and $1,500 more for the S3. The specifications and prices vary by market, so these figures should not be treated as one global package or as final out-the-door prices.
What changed for the 2025 Audi A3?
Audi announced the A3 update on March 12, 2024. Its German-market release describes a flatter, wider frameless Singleframe grille, revised front and rear styling, and new interior details and materials. Audi also said standard equipment was expanded, though its release does not establish that every item is standard in every country or trim.
Selectable daytime-running-light signatures
The updated A3 can offer up to four daytime-running-light signatures selectable through MMI, giving drivers a choice of lighting appearance. Audi design executive Cesar Muntada, Head of Design Light Experience at AUDI AG, said: “This offers our customers a higher degree of personalization.” The feature and equipment availability can vary by market. What makes the 2025 S3 update more than a styling refresh?
Audi’s European announcement describes a more powerful 2.0 TFSI engine rated at 333 PS and 420 Nm, quattro all-wheel drive with a torque splitter, and a new dynamic plus drive-select mode. The torque splitter can vary torque distribution between the rear wheels, adding a chassis-control element beyond the engine upgrade. These are the figures and features in Audi’s European announcement, not a universal specification for every market. Audi’s European S3 release listed a starting price of €55,600 and availability in Europe in the second quarter of 2024; that price is not a U.S. price.

How much higher are the reported U.S. starting prices?
Car and Driver reported in September 2024 that the U.S. 2025 A3 starting price rose by $2,600 from the prior model year, while the S3 starting price rose by $1,500. The publication reported a $49,995 starting price for the 2025 S3.

Why country and trim matter when comparing the figures
Audi’s announcements and price evidence describe different markets. The A3 equipment information cited above concerns the German model range; the S3 powertrain announcement and euro price concern Europe; the reported increases and S3 starting price are U.S.-focused. They should not be combined into a single specification or price list.

Are the 2024, 2025 and 2026 models essentially the same car?
That question appears in owner-community discussion, but a single question is not evidence that the model years are identical. For the change from 2024 to 2025, Audi’s announcement documents visible A3 revisions and, for the European S3, specific engine and chassis updates. A buyer comparing a 2026 car should verify its own country-specific model-year specification and equipment list; the sources cited here do not establish whether every 2026 version carries over the same changes.

Is the price increase worth it?
The answer depends on which car and market you are considering. The A3’s update is primarily visible styling, cabin detailing, lighting choice and expanded equipment; whether those additions justify its reported U.S. increase depends on the equipment actually included in the local trim. The S3’s European update includes a higher-output engine and torque-splitting rear drivetrain technology, so it is a more consequential performance change—but it remains a different performance and price proposition from the standard A3. Compare like with like: same country, body style, trim, included equipment and fee treatment.
