The 2025 Aston Martin Vantage pairs a twin-turbo V8 and rear-wheel drive with sharp, communicative handling, making it more than a striking grand-tourer. It is a compact two-seat coupe with genuine sports-car responses—but also a snug cabin, little interior storage and a price that needs checking against a current quote.
What is the 2025 Aston Martin Vantage?
The Vantage is Aston Martin’s two-seat, front-mid-engine, rear-wheel-drive coupe. For 2025, it uses a 4.0-litre twin-turbocharged V8 and an eight-speed ZF automatic; Car and Driver reports that no manual transmission is offered. Its appeal rests on a distinctive mix: the visual drama and soundtrack expected of an Aston Martin, plus a chassis tuned to make the car feel alert and involving.
Aston Martin introduced this updated Vantage on 12 February 2024. The company says it extensively reworked the V8, including revised cam profiles, optimized compression, larger turbochargers and increased cooling capacity. Its launch specification lists 665PS and 800Nm—up 155PS and 115Nm from the outgoing model—and describes a revised launch-control system integrated with the engine, transmission, stability control and electronic differential. Aston Martin’s launch release also describes a revised bonded-aluminium structure and a 50:50 weight distribution.
How fast is the 2025 Vantage?
Performance figures depend on the market and the acceleration interval being quoted. Aston Martin’s 2024 launch specification claims 0–60mph in 3.4 seconds and a 202mph top speed. Its US model page instead lists 670BHP/680PS, 800Nm, 0–62mph in 3.5 seconds and the same 202mph maximum. Those are different manufacturer specifications and acceleration intervals, not directly interchangeable claims. Aston Martin’s US Vantage page gives the US-market figures.

In its own test, Car and Driver measured 3.2 seconds to 60mph. That is the publication’s result, not Aston Martin’s claim. The distinction matters: the 2024 launch figure is a manufacturer claim, while the quicker 3.2-second time comes from one outlet’s test. Car and Driver also reports that the V8 delivers serious grunt and a sonorous exhaust note. Read Car and Driver’s 2025 Vantage review.
What is the Vantage like to drive?
Car and Driver describes the Vantage’s handling as lively and communicative, with accurate steering, a communicative brake pedal and a neutral character in its initial drive. The underlying hardware supports that intent: Aston Martin describes adaptive damping and a balanced front-engine, rear-drive layout, while Car and Driver reports a chassis that is 7 percent stiffer than before, revised active dampers and Michelin tires.

The result, as characterized in that road test, is a car that encourages the driver to work with its responses rather than simply rely on straight-line power. That makes the Vantage’s appeal broader than its acceleration figure or exhaust note: steering and chassis character are central to the experience. The test article lists Michelin Pilot Sport S5 tires in 275/35ZR-21 size at the front and 325/30ZR-21 at the rear.
How have the exterior and cabin changed?
Aston Martin presents the design as a contemporary reinterpretation of the Vantage, with a new interior and infotainment system. Car and Driver notes a larger front grille, new LED headlamps, 21-inch wheels and new side vents. Inside, the revised cabin replaces the previous pushbutton gear selector with a conventional lever and adds a touchscreen alongside a single instrument display. Some physical controls remain for important functions.

The cabin is snug, as expected in a two-seat sports car, but the update gives it a more modern layout. Car and Driver lists 12 cubic feet of cargo volume for its specified coupe and describes interior cubby storage as scarce. These details make the Vantage better suited to two people travelling light than to buyers who need abundant small-item storage or extra seats.
What are the running-cost and ownership details?
Car and Driver reports US EPA fuel-economy ratings of 15mpg city, 22mpg highway and 18mpg combined for the 2025 Vantage. Aston Martin’s US model page also displays those figures while labeling fuel economy as under homologation, so treat them as US-market ratings with that qualification, not universal real-world consumption figures.

Car and Driver names the Porsche 911 Turbo and Mercedes-AMG GT63 as alternatives in the Vantage’s competitive set and describes them as similarly priced. That identifies plausible cross-shopping choices, not a definitive comparison-test winner. Buyers should weigh steering and chassis character, tested versus claimed acceleration, cabin and cargo usability, transmission choice, equipment and customization, and the actual transaction price for each configuration.

Price deserves particular care. Car and Driver’s page shows conflicting figures: a $194,086 live header price and, later, a $194,500 base price alongside a $302,100 as-tested figure. Those displayed numbers conflict within the same review and may reflect equipment or changes over time; none should be treated as a definitive current price. Ask for a dated quote for the intended market and configuration.
Is the 2025 Vantage S the same car?
No. Aston Martin announced the Vantage S as a separate, more performance-focused derivative on 9 July 2025. The company specifies 680PS and 800Nm, revised suspension hardware, powertrain mounts and control software, a claimed 0–60mph time of 3.3 seconds and a 202mph top speed. Those are S-specific details; they should not be attributed to the base 2025 Vantage. Aston Martin’s announcement said customer deliveries were expected to begin in Q4 2025, which was a forward-looking statement rather than an update on current delivery status. Aston Martin’s Vantage S announcement gives the derivative’s specifications.
