Zero Motorcycles described the 2024 Zero S as an all-new design, highlighting a new 75.7 motor and battery capacity it said was double that of the previous model. The launch announcement does not itemize every year-over-year change, so the evidence supports those headline updates—not a claim that every component was redesigned.
What changed for 2024?
In its 2024 lineup announcement, Zero called the S an “all-new” model and said it introduced the new 75.7 motor and double the battery capacity of its predecessor. Zero also described it as the first of its high-performance models aimed at riders with 11 kW licenses. Zero’s current US S model page lists the following specifications. It is a current listing, not a model-year change log, so the figures should not be treated as proof that each item was new for 2024 or applies identically in every market.

Zero lists a 3.0 kW integrated charger. Its US page gives charging times by charge level and charging setup:

Power Tank
Zero identifies the Power Tank as an optional range-extending accessory requiring dealer installation. The current model page does not state an added-range figure or establish that the accessory is available for every 2024 S configuration. Check exact fitment and availability before treating it as an option for a particular bike.
Equipment on the current US model page
Zero also lists clutchless direct drive, a Gates Poly Chain belt, Showa adjustable suspension, Bosch Base MSC braking equipment and Pirelli Diablo Rosso III tires. What is known about 2024 S software updates?
The Apple App Store listing for Zero’s NextGen app records version 2.9.0, dated December 30, 2023, as adding support for 2024 FX, FXE, S, SR, SR/F, SR/S, DS, DSR and DSR/X models. The listing also describes firmware updating, but app release notes are not a complete firmware changelog for the 2024 S. Zero Motorcycles NextGen app listing
A July 2024 Reddit discussion includes individual owners’ questions and reports about firmware updates and an “A1 limit” message. Those posts document owner experiences, not a confirmed defect, a universal fix, or an official feature description. 2024 Zero S owner discussion

- A complete itemized comparison with the previous S, including which chassis, electronic, styling or component details changed.
- Independent range-test results for the 2024 S.
- Power Tank range gain, exact 2024 fitment, accessory price or availability across markets.
- A full model-specific firmware change log or confirmation that owner-reported A1-limit behavior applies generally.
