The 2024 Zero DSR/X is an electric adventure-oriented motorcycle with a dated U.S. starting price of $22,995 and published claims of up to 179 miles of city range. Its appeal depends less on the headline range than on whether its 545-pound wet weight, charging times and available charging access suit the trips you plan to make. The figures below come from a 2024 buyer’s guide; they are specifications and listed claims, not independent test results.
What the 2024 Zero DSR/X is
Zero positions the DSR/X as its electric adventure model. Its 2024 model-year archive highlights Bosch Offroad Motorcycle Stability Control (MSC), customizable ride modes and rapid charging. Zero describes it as “the most capable Zero ever built,” a manufacturer claim rather than an independent comparative finding. Zero’s 2024 DSR/X archive
This is a specification- and price-focused review, not a road test. The available published material does not establish independently measured acceleration, real-world range, handling, comfort or reliability for the 2024 model.
2024 Zero DSR/X specifications
Cycle World’s U.S. buyer’s guide, dated October 24, 2024, lists these specifications for the 2024 model. They should not be treated as current dealer terms or independently verified performance measurements.

All figures in this table are as listed in Cycle World’s 2024 Zero DSR/X Buyer’s Guide. The guide does not establish the conditions behind the range claims, so treat them as published estimates rather than a promise of distance on a particular route.
Price and what it means for a buyer
Cycle World listed a $22,995 starting price for the 2024 DSR/X in its October 24, 2024 U.S. buyer’s guide. That is a dated listed price, not a quote for a bike available today. Dealer pricing, incentives, regional inventory and the availability of a specific 2024 example are not established here; check with a dealer before comparing out-the-door costs.

For context, the same guide listed the Energica Experia base model at $23,750. That price comparison alone does not make the bikes direct substitutes. Compare intended road and off-road use, claimed range, charging options, equipment, weight and nearby dealer support before choosing between them. The guide also names the Can-Am Origin, LiveWire S2 Del Mar, CSC RX1E and Kawasaki models as comparison options, but does not establish that each is a like-for-like adventure-bike rival.
Range: useful claims, not a route guarantee
The 2024 buyer’s guide lists 179 miles of city range and 107 miles of highway range. Those figures are claims, not results from an independently documented road test in the cited guide. They do not tell you what a particular ride will deliver, and the source does not provide test conditions to apply to your own commute or tour.

- 【Gearbox Mid-Drive Motor】Multiplies Torque to 253N·m for Dominant Hill Climbing — The built-in reduction gearbox amplifies the motor's peak output to 253N·m of wheel-side torque at 3800 RPM, giving the Drax X the raw pulling power to conquer 60° steep climbs that would stall a typical hub motor bike. Whether it's rocky hillsides, loose gravel, or rutted dirt trails, the mid-drive design keeps weight centered for better balance and control than rear hub motor competitors.
- 【Enhanced Ride Comfort & Control】Equipped with a rear shock absorber mounted to a dedicated swing arm design, this bike delivers superior suspension performance that smooths out rough terrain, improves traction, and absorbs bumps more effectively for a more comfortable and confident ride on trails and off‑road surfaces.
- 【Safe & Adjustable Riding Experience】Featuring three safe speed modes (15 mph for beginners, 28 mph for balanced cruising, and up to 50 mph for experienced riders), this electric dirt bike lets riders control their pace with confidence while adapting to different skill levels and terrain conditions — enhancing overall safety and ride enjoyment.
- 【19"/17" Large Wheels for Superior Terrain Dominance & Extended Lifespan】Conquer any terrain with ease! The professional 19" front and 17" rear wheels provide superior obstacle rollover and stability. This larger setup ensures a higher seat height that grows with your rider, offering a longer lifespan and better investment value than standard small-wheel bikes.
- 【Dual LED Headlights and Tail light】The X-PRO Electric Motorcycle is equipped with dual LED headlights(60V/5W), providing optimal brightness and energy efficiency for superior visibility in all conditions. The rear tail light enhances safety, making you clearly visible to others on the road. Additionally, it comes with a built-in horn for added convenience and safety, ensuring you're always noticed. These features combine to offer a sleek and functional design for a safer, more enjoyable ride.
For trip planning, consider the distance between charging opportunities and whether you can recharge where you stop. A route that appears to fit within a listed range still needs a practical charging plan; do not treat either published figure as a guaranteed reserve-free distance.
How long charging takes
Cycle World lists 6.6 kW integrated charging and gives different times by charging method. The listed figures are for a charge to 100%; the guide does not describe test conditions beyond the level or charger category.
Rank #4
- Razor’s smallest electric dirt bike, scaled down to size for riders ages 5 and up.
- Features a crossbar-reinforced handlebar, 12” spoked wheels with pneumatic tires, retractable kickstand, and hand-operated rear brake.
- Carries riders at speeds of up to 8 mph (13 km/h) in the default HIGH speed setting. A high/low speed control switch allows the selection of the right maximum speed.
- The 12V sealed lead-acid rechargeable battery boasts up to 80 minutes of continuous use on a single charge in the Low Speed Mode.
| Charging method | Listed time to 100% |
|---|---|
| Level 1 | 11.6 hours |
| Level 2 | 2.7 hours |
| Rapid charger | 1.6 hours |
These are not interchangeable outcomes: the applicable time depends on the charging method available. Before planning a longer trip, confirm what charging access you can use at the locations on your route rather than assuming a rapid charger will be available.

Suspension and drive
The buyer’s guide lists Showa suspension with 7.5 inches of travel at both ends, 9.7 inches of ground clearance and a belt final drive. It also identifies a chain conversion kit as an option. The listing does not establish whether that kit is currently available or fits every 2024 configuration, so confirm the exact model-year fitment and supply before buying.

Tires
Pirelli Scorpion Trail II tires are listed as standard in sizes 120/70-19 front and 170/60-17 rear. The guide lists Pirelli Scorpion Rally STR as an alternate tire choice. Confirm the tire’s compatibility with the exact motorcycle and wheel before ordering replacements; a listing is not a guarantee of current stock or fitment for a particular bike.
Power Tank and accessories
Cycle World lists a Zero Power Tank option that can increase battery capacity to 21 kWh. This is a model-specific option identified in the 2024 guide, not confirmation that one is currently offered or available for a particular bike. Zero’s current DSR/X product page describes purpose-built accessories, but it does not establish the availability or exact fitment of those items for every 2024 motorcycle.
Who should consider the DSR/X?
The 2024 DSR/X is worth investigating if you want an electric motorcycle with adventure-oriented positioning and have charging access that matches your regular rides. The published specifications also give buyers concrete trade-offs to assess: a 545-pound wet weight, a 32.6-inch seat height and two distinct claimed range figures for city and highway use.
It is harder to judge from the available evidence if your decision depends on verified real-world range, observed off-road performance, comfort over long days or current ownership costs. Those questions require evidence beyond the published buyer’s-guide specifications. Verify the condition and exact equipment of any used or remaining-stock 2024 example, then check its price, accessory fitment and charging setup directly with the seller.
