Neither is an out-the-door quote. Ask a local dealer for an itemized price before deciding whether the XSR700 fits your budget.
What does a 2024 Yamaha XSR700 cost?
Yamaha’s 2024 model-year specifications page lists an $8,599 MSRP and says that figure excludes tax, title, prep, and destination charges; actual prices are set by the dealer. Yamaha’s current overview page, accessed October 7, 2026, displays $8,899 and a $550 destination charge. It says dealer prices may vary and excludes tax, license, registration, destination, and dealer-installed options or accessories.
The two official pages do not explain their different price presentations, so neither figure should be treated as a universal transaction price or an explanation of a price change. To find your likely total, request an itemized quote from a local dealer showing the motorcycle price, destination, setup or prep, taxes, registration, and any optional equipment.
2024 Yamaha XSR700 specifications
These are figures published by Yamaha for the 2024 model, not independent test results. The front-brake rotor diameter is the exception: Yamaha’s specification and feature pages conflict, as noted below.

How the XSR700’s size and riding position may fit you
Yamaha describes the XSR700 as having an upright riding position, a tall, wide handlebar, a two-level seat, and foot controls intended for street riding. Those descriptions do not establish whether the motorcycle will feel comfortable for a particular rider. Its 32.9-inch seat height and 410-pound wet weight are useful starting points for comparison, but reach, balance at a stop, and comfort depend on your body dimensions and experience.
Sit on the motorcycle before buying, ideally with the footwear and riding gear you expect to use. Check whether you can reach the controls naturally, how the seat feels, and whether you are comfortable supporting and maneuvering the bike at a standstill. No rider fit test is established here.

What to evaluate before choosing one
Consider the XSR700 alongside the actual alternatives available to you, using comparable details rather than styling or MSRP alone:
- Total purchase cost: compare itemized local quotes, including destination, setup, taxes, registration, and options.
- Fit and handling: compare seat height and wet weight, then sit on each motorcycle and assess control reach and low-speed confidence.
- Engine character: compare engine layout and torque specifications, while distinguishing manufacturer claims from independently measured results.
- Suspension: check travel and adjustment options against the roads you ride and the load you carry.
- Braking: establish the exact equipment for the specific motorcycle; Yamaha’s published front-rotor information conflicts.
- Running costs: compare fuel capacity, estimated economy, tire sizes and replacement pricing, warranty terms, and local dealer support.
Yamaha calls the bike a blend of engineering and timeless style that does not sacrifice performance. That is the manufacturer’s promotional description, not an independent assessment of ride quality or value.

Fuel economy, tires, and ownership details
Yamaha estimates fuel economy at 58 mpg and lists a 3.7-gallon tank. The estimate is not a guaranteed real-world result, and it should not be used as a promise of a particular riding range. Actual consumption varies with riding conditions and use.
Yamaha lists Michelin Road 5 tires in 120/70ZR17 front and 180/55ZR17 rear sizes. Before ordering replacements, confirm fitment for the exact motorcycle, wheel, market, and intended use; also compare tire prices and installation costs locally. Yamaha’s specifications page lists a one-year limited factory warranty, but the applicable terms should be confirmed with Yamaha or the selling dealer.

Safety and next steps
Yamaha advises riders to read the owner’s manual and product warning labels before operation. Its safety guidance calls for a helmet, eye protection, a riding jacket or long-sleeve shirt, long pants, gloves, and boots. Review the manual and local requirements, and choose protective equipment appropriate to your riding.
