The 2024 Toyota Tacoma TRD Pro is the redesigned Tacoma’s desert-running trim: it pairs Toyota’s i-FORCE MAX hybrid powertrain with adjustable FOX suspension, 33-inch tires and specialized front seats. Toyota lists it as a Double Cab with a 5-foot bed. Those factory specifications explain what sets the TRD Pro apart; they are not independent performance or comfort test results.
What makes the 2024 Tacoma TRD Pro different?
Toyota positions the TRD Pro for high-speed off-road driving, while it describes the Tacoma Trailhunter as the overlanding-oriented grade. That is a distinction in intended use and factory equipment, not proof that one trim is universally more capable. Toyota’s April 2024 announcement calls TRD Pro an i-FORCE MAX-exclusive grade; TRD Sport, TRD Off-Road and Limited also offer the hybrid powertrain.
The TRD Pro’s identity comes from three areas: hybrid power, suspension and tire hardware aimed at rough, fast terrain, and a cabin feature set centered on its IsoDynamic Performance Front Seats.
What engine and power does the 2024 Tacoma TRD Pro have?
Toyota says the i-FORCE MAX system combines a 2.4-liter engine with a 48-horsepower electric motor integrated into the eight-speed transmission. Toyota publishes output of up to 326 horsepower and 465 lb.-ft. of torque. These are manufacturer figures, not independently measured results.

Toyota’s April 2024 release says that output represents a 75% increase in torque over the previous-generation V6-powered Tacoma. The comparison is Toyota’s; it does not by itself establish acceleration, towing, or off-road performance.
What suspension and off-road hardware does it get?
Manually adjustable FOX shocks
Toyota specifies FOX QS3 internal-bypass shocks, with three manually selectable compression-damping settings. The 2024 brochure identifies 2.5-inch aluminum shock housings and rear remote reservoirs. Toyota also lists FOX IFP bump stops. Together, these are the TRD Pro’s defining suspension components; the cited manufacturer material describes the equipment and intended use, not independent testing of how it performs on a particular trail.

Tires, wheels and trail equipment
The factory specification includes 33-inch Goodyear Territory Rugged Terrain tires on 18-inch black alloy wheels. Toyota also lists a Stabilizer Disconnect Mechanism as standard on TRD Pro. It is equipped with a TRD performance air intake, TRD cat-back dual-tip exhaust, an integrated 20-inch LED light bar and RIGID LED fog lamps.
Toyota identifies the TRD Pro as a Double Cab with a 5-foot bed. For tire replacements, confirm the exact size, load rating and fitment for the specific truck rather than relying on the trim name alone.

What is distinctive about the TRD Pro’s front seats?
IsoDynamic Performance Front Seats are standard. Toyota describes an air-over-oil shock absorber mechanism that allows the seats to move vertically and laterally. Toyota says the design is intended to reduce body movement and help stabilize the occupant’s head and neck over rough terrain. That is the manufacturer’s stated purpose; Toyota’s cited material does not provide independent comparative measurements or long-term comfort results.
How does the TRD Pro compare with other Tacoma trims?

Choose between them by matching intended use and the specific equipment you want—especially suspension, tires, powertrain availability and standard trail hardware. Toyota’s descriptions distinguish roles; they do not make one trim the best choice for every kind of off-road driving.

What Toyota’s specifications do—and do not—tell you
The cited Toyota announcements and brochure establish the TRD Pro’s published powertrain output, listed equipment and intended positioning. They do not establish current transaction prices or inventory, real-world fuel economy, independent road-test results, owner-reported reliability or long-term seat comfort. Treat those as separate questions to verify for the truck and market you are considering.
