What kind of hybrid is the 2024 Land Cruiser?
Toyota’s i-FORCE MAX system combines a turbocharged 2.4-liter four-cylinder engine, a 48-hp electric motor integrated into the eight-speed automatic transmission, and a 1.87-kWh nickel-metal hydride battery. Toyota gives total system output as 326 hp and 465 lb-ft of torque. The motor and battery are part of the vehicle’s hybrid system; Toyota does not describe this Land Cruiser as a plug-in model.

The fuel-economy number is an EPA estimate announced by Toyota, not a promise of what a particular driver will achieve. Likewise, the 6,000-pound maximum tow rating does not tell you the payload of an individual vehicle. Use that vehicle’s certification label for its payload figure and confirm the applicable towing limits for the vehicle and trailer.

How does the four-wheel-drive system work?
The Land Cruiser is a body-on-frame SUV with full-time four-wheel drive, a center-locking differential, an electronically controlled two-speed transfer case, and an electronically locking rear differential. Toyota says Multi-Terrain Select can be used in 4WD High and 4WD Low, with Mud, Dirt, and Sand settings.
Some trail equipment is grade- or package-dependent rather than standard across every Land Cruiser. The stabilizer disconnect mechanism and Multi-Terrain Monitor are among the features associated with the Land Cruiser grade and its available equipment; verify the specific vehicle’s window sticker or installed equipment before relying on them.

Toyota also offered a Premium Package for the Land Cruiser grade, with leather-trimmed seats and additional convenience and audio features. The First Edition was announced as limited to 5,000 units for North America; that original production figure does not establish how many remain available. Equipment can vary by vehicle, so compare its sticker and configuration rather than relying on the grade name alone.
How much did the 2024 Land Cruiser cost?
Toyota announced a launch starting MSRP of $55,950, plus a $1,395 dealer processing and handling fee. That is historical launch pricing, not a current used-market value, a present-day offer, or evidence of local availability. What safety features and warranty terms did Toyota announce?
Toyota said Toyota Safety Sense 3.0 is standard and also described Blind Spot Monitor, Rear Cross Traffic Alert, and Hill Start Assist Control. Confirm the window sticker or equipment on the particular vehicle for configuration-specific details.
Toyota’s new-vehicle announcement listed a 36-month/36,000-mile basic warranty, a 60-month/60,000-mile powertrain warranty, eight-year/100,000-mile coverage for qualifying hybrid-related components, and 10-year/150,000-mile hybrid battery coverage. ToyotaCare was described as covering normal factory-scheduled maintenance for two years or 25,000 miles and roadside assistance for two years with unlimited mileage. These were announced new-vehicle terms; remaining coverage on a used Land Cruiser depends on its original in-service date and eligibility.
