The U.S.-market 2024 Honda Civic Si pairs everyday sedan practicality and useful fuel economy with one clear commitment: it comes only with a six-speed manual. Its 200-hp turbo engine, standard limited-slip differential and well-equipped cabin make it appealing to drivers who want an engaging commute; the manual-only setup and lack of heated seats may rule it out for others.
What the 2024 Civic Si is—and who it suits
The Civic Si is a front-wheel-drive sport sedan for drivers who want to shift for themselves without giving up the basic usefulness of a compact four-door. Honda’s U.S. specification guide lists five seats and 14.4 cubic feet of trunk volume, along with a 12.39-gallon fuel tank. Its defining compromise is straightforward: you get a sport-focused manual drivetrain, not an automatic option. Honda’s 2024 U.S. specifications and Car and Driver’s review describe the configuration.
- Good fit: You want a manual, front-wheel-drive sedan with useful passenger and cargo space, modern phone connectivity and strong official fuel-economy ratings.
- Look elsewhere: You need an automatic, prioritize maximum power, or consider heated seats essential.
Engine, transmission and performance
The 2024 U.S. Civic Si uses a 1,498-cc turbocharged inline-four rated by Honda at 200 hp at 6,000 rpm and 192 lb-ft of torque from 1,800 to 5,000 rpm. A six-speed manual with rev-match control sends power to the front wheels; a helical limited-slip differential is standard. Honda also specifies a lightweight single-mass flywheel. These are manufacturer specifications, not independent performance measurements. Honda’s specification guide lists the hardware, while Car and Driver confirms there is no automatic option.
Car and Driver recorded 6.6 seconds from 0 to 60 mph in its test of the 2024 Civic Si. That is the publication’s test result, not a Honda claim or a guarantee for every car or driving condition. In its driving impressions, the publication praises the short-throw shifter’s light action and the car’s handling, while noting that the engine can feel coarse when pushed. Those are reviewer observations, not claims about every owner’s experience. Read the review and test context.

Fuel economy: official ratings and a road-test result
Honda lists the manual 2024 Civic Si at 27 mpg city, 37 mpg highway and 31 mpg combined. These are manufacturer-listed ratings for the U.S. car. Honda’s specifications provide the official figures.
For a separate real-world reference, Car and Driver measured 37 mpg on its 75-mph highway test route in a 2022 Civic Si, which it describes as mechanically identical to the 2024. That result belongs to the publication’s 2022 test and its particular highway-test procedure; it is not a promise of 37 mpg for every 2024 driver. Car and Driver’s review reports the test result.

Cabin, technology and everyday practicality
Honda’s U.S. feature guide lists a 9-inch touchscreen, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and a 12-speaker Bose premium audio system. The equipment list also includes sport front seats, a moonroof, 60/40 split-folding rear seatbacks, Honda Sensing driver-assistance features, and blind-spot information with cross-traffic monitor. The rear seatbacks add flexibility when carrying longer items, while the 14.4-cu-ft trunk provides the main cargo area. Honda’s 2024 feature guide and specifications list these features and dimensions.
The U.S. model does not include heated seats, according to Car and Driver. Do not assume Canadian equipment carries over: Honda Canada lists heated front and rear seats, a heated steering wheel, wireless charging and a 10.2-inch display for its Canadian-market Si. Those are market-specific differences, not U.S. equipment. Car and Driver’s U.S. review; Honda Canada’s Civic Si page.

How to weigh the Civic Si against alternatives
Car and Driver describes the Si as less powerful than the Volkswagen Golf GTI and Hyundai Elantra N, while highlighting the Honda’s price positioning and driving character as strengths. That comparison does not establish a current value ranking: prices, inventory and transaction costs vary, and comparable current pricing is not established here. Car and Driver’s review.
When cross-shopping the Si with a Golf GTI, Elantra N Line or N, or Subaru WRX, compare equivalent model years and versions in your market. Give particular attention to:
