The xDrive60 and M70 xDrive were also part of the lineup, but their U.S. base MSRPs are not established by the cited BMW announcements. The models differed in drivetrain and performance, and trim names varied by market.
What were the 2024 BMW i7 trims and prices in the U.S.?
BMW’s 2023 U.S. model-update announcement set the 2024 i7 eDrive50’s starting MSRP at $105,700, with $995 destination and handling added. That is the only 2024 U.S. i7 base price established by the official U.S. pricing information cited here. BMW said the eDrive50 would go on sale in fall 2023. (BMW PressClub USA)
| 2024 U.S. variant | Drivetrain and position | Output or acceleration | Base price established here |
|---|---|---|---|
| i7 eDrive50 | Single rear motor; rear-wheel drive | 449 hp | $105,700 MSRP, plus $995 destination and handling |
| i7 xDrive60 | Dual motor; all-wheel drive | Not stated in the cited price announcement | Not stated in the cited official U.S. sources |
| i7 M70 xDrive | Dual motor; all-wheel drive; performance-focused | 650 hp; BMW-estimated 0–60 mph in 3.5 seconds | Not stated in the cited official U.S. sources |
The eDrive50’s motor output comes from BMW’s 2023 U.S. announcement. BMW’s April 2023 M70 announcement said its U.S. MSRP would be released closer to production; it does not establish a final 2024 U.S. base price for the M70. The cited official U.S. sources likewise do not establish the xDrive60’s 2024 base MSRP. (BMW PressClub USA / BMW M, April 17, 2023)
How did the eDrive50, xDrive60 and M70 differ?
i7 eDrive50: rear-wheel drive
The eDrive50 was the 2024 lineup’s rear-wheel-drive option, using one motor at the rear axle and producing 449 hp, according to BMW. BMW said range and performance figures would be released closer to launch in its initial U.S. model-update announcement, so that announcement does not provide a definitive 2024 EPA range figure.

i7 xDrive60: dual-motor all-wheel drive
The xDrive60 used two motors and all-wheel drive. It was a separate 2024 model from the rear-wheel-drive eDrive50, but the cited U.S. announcement does not provide its base price. Avoid treating a price from another model year or market as the 2024 U.S. MSRP.
i7 M70 xDrive: performance flagship
BMW rated the M70 xDrive at 650 hp and estimated 0–60 mph in 3.5 seconds. The same April 2023 announcement gave a preliminary estimated range of up to 295 miles; that is BMW’s preliminary estimate, not a final universal range figure. BMW called it “the most powerful purely electric model in the BMW portfolio” and “the quickest fully electric BMW model”—manufacturer claims made in that dated announcement, rather than independent test results. Do the 2024 i7 trim names vary by country?
Yes. BMW Korea’s release illustrates why a trim name or equipment package should not be assumed to apply in the United States. For Korea, BMW listed the eDrive50 M Sport and M Sport Limited; the M Sport Limited omitted some rear-seat options, while the M Sport included features such as Executive Lounge seating and BMW Theatre Screen. Korea’s xDrive60 lineup comprised Design Pure Excellence and M Sport, and its M70 xDrive was listed as one trim. These are Korean-market configurations, not evidence of U.S. trim names or U.S. prices. (BMW PressClub Korea)
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone. What range figures are available for the 2024 i7?
BMW’s current U.S. range page lists an estimated 301–314 miles for the eDrive50, while warning that actual range varies with conditions and equipment and that estimates for newly released models may not yet be EPA certified. Treat that as BMW’s current estimate, not as a definitive 2024 EPA figure or a launch-era rating. (BMW USA, BMW EV Range: How Far Can You Drive?)

BMW’s M70 announcement separately described “up to 295 miles” as a preliminary estimated range. That figure carries BMW’s preliminary qualification and should not be read as a guaranteed distance for every M70 configuration or driving condition. (BMW PressClub USA / BMW M)
Which 2024 i7 should you compare?
- For the published U.S. starting price: the eDrive50 is the clear reference point at $105,700 before its $995 destination and handling charge.
- For all-wheel drive: compare the xDrive60 and M70 xDrive as dual-motor models, but do not infer their 2024 U.S. prices from another market or model year.
- For performance: BMW’s stated 650 hp and estimated 3.5-second 0–60 mph time distinguish the M70 in the cited lineup announcement.
- For rear-seat equipment: check the exact country and configuration. BMW Korea’s package differences show that equipment is not necessarily uniform across markets.
Keep later model-year information separate: BMW’s 2025 announcement uses i7 50 xDrive and i7 60 xDrive naming and gives newer starting prices, which should not be applied to the 2024 lineup. (BMW PressClub USA, The New BMW 7 Series)
