In Japan, Yamaha announced the 2023 TMAX560 ABS and TMAX560 Tech MAX ABS for release on March 28, 2023. European markets generally used the names TMAX and TMAX Tech MAX.

The trade-off is maneuverability at walking pace. At 218–220kg wet, the TMAX is substantially heavier than a 125cc or 300cc scooter. Its weight is noticeable when pushing it out of a parking space, performing a tight U-turn, or lifting it onto the center stand. Once moving, however, the automatic transmission and balanced chassis make the weight less troublesome.
ABS, traction control, and D-Mode are standard equipment. D-Mode allows the rider to select between different throttle responses, while traction control adds a layer of assistance on wet or slippery surfaces.
