Which Himalayan was launched in 2023?
Royal Enfield launched the all-new Himalayan at Motoverse on November 24, 2023. This is the Himalayan 450, a different generation from the earlier Himalayan 411. The manufacturer’s technical sheets show the distinction clearly: the new model has a 452cc engine, while the preceding model had a 411cc engine. Do not use specifications for the 411 when describing the 450.
At the launch, Royal Enfield CEO B. Govindarajan said: “Embarking on the creation of the new Himalayan, we immersed ourselves in the riding experiences of our community, engaging with globetrotters, explorers, and athletes.” The statement appeared in the company’s November 24, 2023 launch release.

Royal Enfield lists a 452cc, liquid-cooled, single-cylinder engine with double overhead camshafts (DOHC), four valves, and an 11.5:1 compression ratio. The following are manufacturer-published specifications, not independent test measurements.

Chassis and suspension
The India specification sheet lists a steel twin-spar tubular frame, a 43mm upside-down front fork with 200mm of travel, and a linkage-type rear monoshock with 200mm of travel. Royal Enfield’s current US product page describes 21-inch front and 17-inch rear wheels, dual-sport tires, riding modes, and switchable ABS. Treat those features as specific to the model and market shown on that current page; they do not, by themselves, verify the configuration of every 2023-market bike.
