The 2023 Moto Guzzi V7 Stone is the 853 cc version of the V7, with a transverse air-cooled V-twin, shaft drive and a minimalist equipment package. Moto Guzzi’s US model-year specification sheet lists 65 hp, 53.8 lb-ft of torque and a historical MSRP of $9,190. That MSRP is not a current used-bike value or an out-the-door price.
What changed for the 2023 V7 Stone?
The 2023 Stone belongs to the V7’s 850 generation: its engine displaces 853 cc, replacing the 750 cc engine used by the preceding V7 generation. Piaggio Group identifies the larger engine and 65 hp output as defining changes for the new generation (Piaggio Group product information). The Stone is the range’s pared-back-looking version, rather than a different engine configuration.
Its documented visual and equipment signatures include black exhausts, alloy wheels, a circular digital LCD instrument and full LED lighting with an eagle-outline daytime running light. The 2023 brochure also specifies a wider 150/70 rear tire. These are equipment and styling distinctions, not evidence of a particular riding experience (Moto Guzzi V7 range brochure and product information).
2023 US specifications
The following figures are from Moto Guzzi’s US MY23 specification sheet. Its kerb-weight figure is defined with fluids and at least 90% of usable tank volume under the stated EU guideline; it is not the same as dry weight. Confirm the actual motorcycle’s local-market specifications, and check the complete tire designation on the bike before ordering replacements.

How to read the Stone’s specifications
Engine and intended role
The published output and six-speed gearbox describe a middleweight roadster on paper, not a high-output sport bike. The figures do not establish how quickly it accelerates, how much heat or vibration a rider will notice, or how it behaves on a particular road; those are riding impressions that require a road test or clearly attributed rider evidence.

Weight and seat height
A 30.7-inch seat height and 491.6-pound kerb figure are useful screening numbers when comparing motorcycles or considering whether a rider can manage the bike at a stop. Seat height alone does not predict fit: inseam, seat shape, suspension sag and balance also matter. A buyer should sit on the actual motorcycle and, where possible, assess it at low speed before deciding.
Fuel and range
The tank is listed at 5.5 US gallons, including a 1.05-gallon reserve, and the manufacturer lists 48 mpg. Because the extract does not state the test conditions for that consumption figure, it should not be treated as a guaranteed real-world result or used to calculate a dependable range.

Brakes, electronics and tires
The sheet documents dual-channel ABS and traction control, along with a four-piston Brembo front caliper and a two-piston rear caliper. It lists 100/90 front and 150/70 rear tire sizes on 18- and 17-inch wheels, respectively, but does not endorse a tire brand or provide a complete tire specification.
2023 price versus today’s asking price
Moto Guzzi’s US MY23 sheet lists a $9,190 MSRP for the standard 2023 V7 Stone. A secondary 2023 model guide lists $8,990, a $200 difference; the available sources do not establish why the figures differ (Total Motorcycle’s 2023 guide). Treat the manufacturer figure as the primary model-year reference, not as the amount every buyer paid.

Neither figure is a current used-bike valuation, and MSRP excludes any dealer charges or other transaction costs. Current Moto Guzzi pages show later model ranges and prices, so those figures should not be backdated to a 2023 motorcycle (current Moto Guzzi V7 information). The available sources do not establish a reliable present-day used-price range, regional transaction sample, dealer freight/PDI total or incentive history.
For a specific listing, compare motorcycles of the same model year and condition, then ask the seller or dealer for an itemized out-the-door figure. Judge a used example by its mileage, condition, service records, tire age and wear, and accessories included—not by treating its original MSRP as its present value.

Is the 2023 V7 Stone a good beginner bike?
The specifications alone cannot produce a yes-or-no answer. The 30.7-inch seat height may help some riders reach the ground, while the 491.6-pound kerb weight is a substantial figure to consider when parking, backing up or recovering a motorcycle from a lean. Its 65 hp rating also matters, but does not by itself describe throttle response or make the bike suitable or unsuitable for a particular person.
Before buying, consider whether you can comfortably support and maneuver the bike, complete appropriate rider training, and meet local licensing requirements. If possible, sit on and test-ride an example under the conditions allowed by your license and dealer. A beginner who is uncertain about low-speed control should prioritize training and a manageable fit over a categorical recommendation based on displacement or seat height alone.
Quick Recap
Used-bike inspection and fitment checks
- Confirm identity and specification: Check the model year, trim and market specification against the actual motorcycle rather than assuming every V7 or regional version is identical.
- Review maintenance records: Ask for dated service documentation and clarify what work is due next. The cited specifications do not establish a reliability verdict or maintenance history for an individual bike.
- Inspect tires: Check condition, age and the complete tire markings. The sheet’s size figures alone do not specify brand, construction, load rating or speed rating.
- Verify accessories: Moto Guzzi materials describe V7 pannier and saddle options, but present-day catalog listings do not verify that every current accessory fits a 2023 US Stone. Confirm part numbers and fitment before paying for an accessory (Moto Guzzi accessories catalog).
- Separate list price from deal price: Request itemized dealer charges and distinguish the seller’s asking price from the final amount payable.
