Mazda UK described a 2.5-litre plug-in hybrid (PHEV) and 3.3-litre inline-six diesel mild hybrid, while Mazda Australia announced a local line-up with petrol and diesel inline-six mild hybrids as well as a PHEV. The UK PHEV’s headline figures include 327 PS and a claimed 0–62 mph time of 5.8 seconds; its UK launch-era starting price was £43,950. Those are dated, market-specific manufacturer figures—not a current global price or an independent road test.
What engines were available in the 2023 Mazda CX-60?
The answer depends on where the vehicle was sold. Mazda’s UK and Australian announcements describe different ranges, so an engine, trim or output listed for one country should not be assumed to apply in another.

| Market and source | Powertrain range described | Other market detail |
|---|---|---|
| United Kingdom; Mazda article dated 26 March 2023 | 2.5-litre four-cylinder petrol PHEV; 3.3-litre inline-six diesel mild hybrid with 48 V Mazda M Hybrid Boost | The diesel was listed in 200 PS rear-wheel-drive and 254 PS all-wheel-drive versions. In the range description, Homura and Takumi were paired with the 254 PS AWD drivetrain. Mazda UK’s CX-60 overview |
| Australia; Mazda announcement dated 28 November 2022 | Turbocharged inline-six petrol and diesel mild hybrids, plus a PHEV | The announced grades were Evolve, GT and Azami. Mazda said the vehicle would arrive in Australia in June 2023. UK grades, outputs and prices should not be applied to this range. Mazda Australia’s announcement |
The country-specific distinction matters when comparing listings: a CX-60’s badge or grade name alone does not establish its engine or equipment.
