The U.S.-market 2023 Honda CB500X is a 471cc, six-speed adventure-style motorcycle with a 4.7-gallon fuel capacity and 439-pound curb weight. Honda’s published specifications and feature descriptions can help identify the model; its year-specific owner’s manual is the place to check operating and maintenance directions. For luggage, Honda lists separate model-year accessory instructions for panniers, a rear carrier and a seat-bag attachment.
2023 Honda CB500X specifications
Honda’s U.S. specifications, published January 10, 2023, are summarized below. Honda says specifications may change and that California models may differ slightly because of emissions equipment, so these figures should not be assumed to describe every market or configuration.

Honda-described features and riding position
Honda describes the CB500X as having an upright, adventure-bike posture and a seating position that lets the rider move around freely. The manufacturer also lists an LED headlight, a slim seat profile and a windscreen with two height settings. These are Honda’s feature descriptions, not independent assessments of comfort, wind protection or lighting performance.

Where to find the 2023 owner’s manual
Honda’s owner-manual portal lists a downloadable 2023 CB500X Owner’s Manual. Use that model-year manual for operating instructions and scheduled maintenance rather than assuming procedures or intervals from another year. Find it through Honda’s owner-manual portal.

Choosing luggage and checking fitment
Honda Canada’s installation-instruction listing includes 2023 CB500X documents for a pannier kit, pannier stay, rear carrier, rear carrier base and rear-seat-bag attachment kit. Those separate categories matter when comparing luggage: a case or bag is not necessarily supplied with the rack or mounting hardware it needs.
- Panniers: Check whether the pannier stay and other required mounting hardware are included or sold separately.
- Top-case setup: Confirm which carrier and base are required, and whether the specific case is listed as compatible with the 2023 model.
- Seat bag: Check for the rear-seat-bag attachment kit and verify the bag’s year-specific fitment.
Honda’s installation listing also includes instructions for a main stand, tank pad, knuckle guards, light bar, heated-grip attachment and accessory socket. These documents establish that Honda published installation instructions for those accessory categories; they do not establish current stock, availability in every region or compatibility with third-party products. For a product search, “Honda CB500X pannier kit” is a useful model-specific phrase, but it does not verify a current listing or a particular seller’s fitment claim. Before buying, check the exact model year, regional part number and required mounting hardware; confirm current availability with the seller or Honda dealer.
