The 2023 Ford GT Mk IV is a track-only sendoff for the Ford GT, not a road-going supercar. Ford said its bespoke twin-turbo EcoBoost was targeted to deliver more than 800 horsepower, announced a starting MSRP of $1.7 million, and limited production to 67 hand-built cars. The “Mk VI” in the original headline is a typo: Ford identifies this car as the GT Mk IV.
What is the 2023 Ford GT Mk IV?
Developed by Ford Performance and Multimatic, the GT Mk IV is a purpose-built track car and the final track-only Ford GT model. Its engineering is aimed at circuit use; Ford does not describe it as a road-legal version of the regular Ford GT.
The name and production run look back to Ford’s endurance-racing history. The 67-car run honors 1967, the year the original Ford GT Mk IV won the 24 Hours of Le Mans. The contemporary GT Mk IV is a limited-production track sendoff, not the 1967 car revived for the road.
How much horsepower does the Ford GT Mk IV have?
Ford says the specially engineered twin-turbo Ford EcoBoost engine was targeted to deliver more than 800 horsepower. That is Ford’s stated target, not a published dyno result or independently verified output. The available official specifications do not establish a measured horsepower figure.

What makes the GT Mk IV a track-focused car?
Ford lists a bespoke racing gearbox, a longer wheelbase, a carbon-fiber “long tail” body and Multimatic Adaptive Spool Valve (ASV) race suspension. These are purpose-built features for the car’s track role, but the available sources do not provide independent comparisons or test results showing how they affect lap times or performance relative to other cars.
Ford describes the long-tail body as functional as well as striking. No verified downforce figure, top speed or lap time is established in the cited official material, so those numbers should not be inferred from the car’s shape or equipment.

How much did the 2023 Ford GT Mk IV cost?
Ford’s December 9, 2022 launch announcement set a $1.7 million starting MSRP and said buyers would apply through Multimatic. That is the original announced price and ordering process, not a current transaction price, resale value or confirmation that applications remain open. Ford said the cars would be assembled at Multimatic’s facility in Markham, Ontario.
How many GT Mk IVs were made, and are any still available?
Ford announced a run of 67 hand-built examples. In an August 15, 2025 update, Ford Performance said most of the planned cars were already with customers and it was taking orders for the remaining cars. That update describes the situation at that time; it does not establish whether any cars remain available on October 8, 2026.
