The next-generation Ford Everest is a seven-seat SUV introduced alongside the next-generation Ranger, but its debut date, engines, trims and equipment depend on the market. Ford Thailand revealed the pair in March 2022; Ford described a separate Middle East regional debut in October 2023. There is no single global 2023 Everest specification sheet.
When did the 2023 Ford Everest debut?
It depends on what “debut” means and which market you mean. Ford Thailand said the next-generation Everest, Ranger and Ranger Raptor were revealed together at the Bangkok International Motor Show on 21 March 2022. Ford Middle East later announced the Everest was set to debut in the region, then described its regional debut on 11 October 2023. Those are distinct market events, not conflicting dates for one worldwide launch. Ford Thailand’s 2022 announcement; Ford Middle East’s 2023 regional debut release; Ford Middle East’s September 2023 preview.
Is the Ford Everest based on the Ranger?
Ford presented the next-generation Everest alongside the next-generation Ranger and describes the two as related vehicles. The releases establish that relationship but do not give a percentage of shared components, so a specific parts-sharing figure cannot be stated from this information. The Everest is positioned as a family SUV, with seating for up to seven and flexible second- and third-row seating; folding mechanisms and equipment vary by trim and market.
What engines and transmissions does it have?
Powertrains are regional rather than universal. Ford’s Thailand reveal described 2.0-litre diesel engines in single-turbo and bi-turbo forms, paired with six-speed or ten-speed automatic transmissions. Ford’s Middle East announcement described a different regional selection:

The Middle East output figures are Ford’s stated specifications for that regional announcement, not independent test results or specifications for every country. Check the local model listing for the engine and transmission actually offered.
What features and trims were announced?
Equipment also differs across markets. Ford Thailand’s 2022 release mentioned wireless charging, an electric parking brake and second- and third-row seats designed to fold flat to accommodate long loads. Ford Middle East listed XLS, XLT and Limited trims at its 2023 reveal, while noting that variants depend on market. Its release described an 8-inch digital instrument panel, 10.1-inch or 12-inch central touchscreen options and SYNC4. It also specified 60:40 split second-row seating and 50:50 split third-row seating, with fold-flat functions varying by trim. These features should not be read as standard equipment on every Everest.

Trim names vary by region. The Middle East announcement names XLS, XLT and Limited; the Ford Caribbean 2023 brochure covers Ambiente, Trend and Titanium. They are separate market lineups, not one combined global range.
What off-road capability is specified?
Ford’s Middle East release described available 4×4 equipment including a two-speed Electronic Shift On the Fly transfer case, underbody skid plates, rear locking differential, selectable off-road drive modes and front tow hooks. Availability depends on version. For 4×4 models in Ford Caribbean’s 2023 brochure, Ford listed these figures:
Rank #3
- Brand new box. Real rubber tires. True-to-scale detail. Has opening front doors. Detailed interior, exterior. Officially licensed product. Manufacturer's original unopened packaging. Made of diecast metal with some plastic parts. Dimensions approximately L-8, W-3.75, H-3 inches.
- Ground clearance: 227 mm.
- Approach angle: 29.5 degrees.
- Breakover angle: 21.5 degrees.
- Departure angle: 25 degrees.
- Fording depth: 800 mm; the brochure includes water-crossing cautions.
These are manufacturer brochure figures for the specified Caribbean-market 4×4 models, not universal dimensions for every Everest. Ford’s Middle East chief platform engineer Ian Foston described the design intent as “Tough on the outside, sanctuary on the inside, amazing capability underneath.” That is Ford’s characterization, not an independent evaluation of the vehicle’s performance.
How much cargo space does it offer?
Ford Caribbean’s 2023 brochure states 2,010 liters of cargo space in its specification context. The figure is tied to that brochure’s market and configuration; it should not be assumed to describe every seating arrangement or Everest sold elsewhere. The Thailand release’s description of fold-flat second- and third-row seats likewise points to load flexibility, but does not establish the same cargo measurement.

What should buyers compare locally?
Because engine, trim and equipment availability vary, compare actual local variants rather than relying on a global summary. Before choosing, verify:
- Engine and transmission, including whether a 4×2 or 4×4 version is offered.
- Safety and driver-assistance equipment on the specific trim.
- Third-row access, seat-folding operation and seating configuration.
- Infotainment screen size, connectivity and instrument display.
- Off-road hardware fitted to that version.
- Current local price and warranty terms.
Ford Thailand’s March 2022 release listed historical launch prices of THB 1,464,000 for Everest Sport and THB 1,854,000 for Titanium+. Those were Thailand launch prices at that time, not current quotes or prices applicable elsewhere.

Are 2023 Ford Everest accessories interchangeable?
Ford says its accessories are designed specifically for the Everest and directs customers to dealers for the complete list. That does not confirm that any individual part fits every model year, trim or country. The Caribbean brochure also notes that licensed accessories may be developed by accessory manufacturers and may not be designed or tested to Ford engineering requirements. Check the exact part number, vehicle fitment, warranty implications and market availability with Ford or an authorized dealer before buying.
